The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) regrets to announce the demise of Mr. Patrick Etyang’ Prosecution Counsel in West Pokot, which occurred on the 9th January 2026 at the Cherangany Hospital, Kitale.

He was a beloved son of Mzee Francis Emorut Oroni (Rtd. Head Teacher) and the late Mama Carolyne Akuku Oroni. Son-in-law of the late Ruben Oyasi and Margaret Oyasi.

Spouse of Florence Oyasi Etyang. Father of Moses Oroni, Elsie Etyang, Esther Etyang and Gift Etyang. Grandfather of Blessing jayla.

Brother of Mary Ekwenye, Seraphino Emmanuel, Florence Amoding, Catherine Ikete, Topister ‘Wash’, the late Stephen Elot and George Oyuk.

Brother-in-law of Pascal Ekwenye, Emmy Oroni, Stephen Omai, Reagan Mauda, Sandra, Mercy Oroni, Christine Were, Rosemary Odire, Benta Otyseno, Peter Oyasi and Emily Oyasi.

The cortege leaves Cherangany Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 23rd January 2026, for an overnight stay at his home in Busia town, Bondeni, next to Busia Township Primary School. The burial will be held on Saturday, 24th January 2026 at his home.
