Rested in God’s perfect peace: 19th August 2022
It is three years since you held my hands firmly, refusing to let go. Little did I know that this would be the last time for both of us to look into each other’s eyes and understand the extent and gravity of our tacit communication. Yes, it is said that one moves on with time….but I disabuse this notion…. I will never move on…
I seem to be moving forward as I take on the challenges, embrace the opportunities…but move on…..I beg to differ. There are times that I want to share my feelings with you, I do still tell you though, but God knows, I miss your world-wise advice. I cherish the moments we shared and will be forever grateful for the time that God gave us to be together. The cover of the card that you sent me on one Valentine’s Day read: When think of those who have made a difference in my life. The inside read: I Think ofYou I value and still have on my bedside table, the ‘gift’ of a fallen bird’s feather that you picked up in our compound where you took walks with the resident nurse. I vividly recall my deep-seated love for you when, hesitantly you handed it to me and said: This is for you. You wondered whether I would appreciate it, but your doubt disappeared the moment I planted it in my hair and did a happy dance. PM, you helped many, without any reason and gave without the expectation of receiving anything in return. Your family and friends still speak highly of you and of how you impacted their lives. You remain forever alive in our hearts AMEN.
Your loving wife, partner, best friend forever, Eliza.
