Philip Achieng Matete

 It’s with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Mr. Philip Almans Achieng Matete.

Son of the late Chief Erasto Matete and Esther Aduda of Kano Kobura Ong’eche. Step son to the late; Leah, Hellen, Jenifer and Margaret Matete. Husband of Christine Adhiambo Obado and Esther Monday Nyakundi. Son in law to the late Joseph & Mary Obado (Sakwa, Kowak), Henry and Salome Nyakundi (Kisii, Matamaywa). Father of the late Jacktone Victor, Robert Matete, Dr. George Matete, James Matete, Paul Matete, Harold Mumbo, Denis Chute, Naaman William and Maryanne Matete.

Brother of Dr. Francis Oriwa Matete, Calvin Obongo, Edward Mayoga, the late Benson Sinoga, the late Catherine Midodo and many others. Brother-in law to Peter & Elizabeth Dawa (Kamagambo, Sare), the late Justo & Loice Ayal (Seme, Kombija), Helida Dede (Gem, Aluor), Erastus & Scholastica Lirango (Isulu, Kakamega), Andrea & Philomena Lumula (Bumila, Eregi), the Ang’awas’, the Dondes’, the Hesbons’ and the Barracks’. Father in law to Agnes Dawa, Ruth Ayall, Caroline Dede, Mildred Lirango & Bonventure Lumula. He leaves behind many grandchildren.

The body leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on 30/08/2019 at 10.00AM for a memorial service at St. Stephens ACK Kisumu.

Burial on 31/08/2019 at his home in Kano-Kobura, Ong’eche Village.
