Prof. Dismas A. Otieno

We regret to announce the untimely demise of Prof. Dismas A. Otieno, on Saturday the 14 of July 2018 after a short illness in Eldoret. He was formerly of the University of Swaziland, Moi University Dept. of Chemistry and Sch. of Env. Studies, and ICIPE.

Son of the late Okoth K’Asembo and the late Gaudencia Oboya of Nyajuok Ting’ Wang’i. He was the loving husband of Dr. Christina Otieno (Moi University, School of Public Health). Loving father of George, Edward, Vincent, Mark and Sabina. Brother-in-law of Prof. Peter and Claris Amuka, Fedele and Vanda Tallarico. Father-in-law of Bessie Amuka and Renata Tallarico. Doting grandfather of Ryan, Kofi, Emmanuel and Gianluca.

Cortege leaves Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) on 26/07/2018 for Requiem mass at St.Michael’s Chaplaincy, Moi University at 12.30p.m. Thereafter there will be a vigil at the family house in Main Campus.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday the 28th of July 2018 at his home in Mur-Malanga village, Siaya County.
