Prof. Ellis Mbaka Njoka

It is with deep sorrow and humble submission to God’s will that the Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) hereby announces the demise of Prof. Ellis Mbaka Njoka on 15th September 2019. Prof. Njoka was a Professor of Agronomy in the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources at KeMU.

Son of the late Njoka Mugera & Peris Ciang’ombe. Brother of the late Juliet, Ciatharaka, Nkune and the late Cianguru. In-law of Kariuki, Amos, Charoge, Muraya, Sigilai, Mwenje, Kanyagia, Nyaga, Mbuba and many other families. Loving husband of Judith Kaari Mbaka. Father of Crispin Mwiti, Crispus Mwenda, Alex Munene and Christine Kathomi. Father-in-law of Ellyjoy Murugi, Linda Kawira. Catherine Nduta and Anthony Sirigai.

Doting grandpa of Tsekey, Martin, Muthomi, Mawira Osteen, Sean, Gitonga, Judy, Tanya, the late Kaari, Reggie, Reyna, Suri, the late Kimanthi and many others. Among other great things, Prof. Mbaka was a great grandpa, an uncle, a friend, a colleague, a mentor and a brother in Christ to many.

A memorial service will be held at KeMU Chapel at Main Campus on Thursday 26th September 2019 from 8:00 am and the burial ceremony will be held at his home in Chuka on Saturday 28th September 2019.
