Prof. Isaac Orure Nyambok

It is with a heavy heart and acceptance of the will of God that we announce the passing on of Professor Isaac Orure Nyambok, which occurred on 20th August, 2021, in Bristol, UK. He was the Pioneer Professor of Geology at the University of Nairobi.

Son of the late Mzee Nyambok Ouko and the late Mama Doris Nyambok of Kamser “B”, Karachuonyo, Kendu Bay, Homabay County. The third born in a family of 7 children namely, Joseph Akendo, the late Mwamba, Moses Ochieng, the late Sospeter Oyugi, Mary Birir and the late Eric Juma.

Husband of Margaret Auma Nyambok, father of Antony Nyambok and David Nyambok. Father-in-law of Eng. Esther Nyambok. Grandfather of Ryan Orure Nyambok and Zuri Auma Nyambok. Loving uncle and foster father of Bernard Larry Nyambok and Roy Nyambok.

Son-in-law of the late Joyce and the late Eliazaro Wanyera of Hulwinu village. His in-laws are Paul and Joyce Macharia of Kandara. Brother-in-law of the late Judith Agutu, the late Robert Wanyera, the late Pamela Odhiambo and Samwel Wanyera, the late Phelesia Akendo, Mary Mnyazi, Ruth Nyambok, the late Linet Oyugi, the late Catherine Awino, Risper Odundo, Hellen Ouma, Anita Odundo, Betty Ouko, Rosemary Angaine, Loice Otieno, Samantha Opiyo, Elsa Odongo and Nora Aoko.

His body is lying at Lee Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday 01/09/2021, at CITAM Valley Road – Nairobi from 10.00am EAT.

The cortege leaves Nairobi on Thursday 02/09/2021, to KenduBay and the funeral service and burial will be conducted on Friday 03/09/2021, at his home in Kamser Ngeta village.
