Raphael Nzioki, NTV video editor, killed in hit-and-run city centre accident
Raphael Nzioki, NTV’s youthful and energetic video editor, has been knocked down and killed by a hit and run vehicle.
Nzioki was crossing Kenyatta Avenue/Kimathi Street intersection at about 1.30 am on Saturday morning when the accident happened.
The motorist who hit Nzioki sped off and left Nzioka’s body on the road.
Police officers are investigating what they suspect was a hit and run.
Nzioki’s body was moved to the city mortuary. Relatives and friends have positively identified his body.
He was part of an award-winning documentary ‘The Penalty Feature’ where he featured as a creative producer and video editor.
The video editors’ death comes days after a former veteran journalist and writer for Nation Media Group collapsed and later passed away while attending a meeting at Kabarak University on Wednesday, March 4.
A news report in the Daily Nation of Friday, March 6, 2020 indicated that Oliver Mulanda Musasia, who abandoned the newsroom for a teaching career died aged 39.
He was reported dead upon arrival at Mediheal Hospital in Nakuru Town.
Mulanda was a lecturer at Kabarak University’s journalism department.
“We rushed him to the hospital but he died on the way. We don’t know much, but a postmortem examination will reveal what happened,” Dorcas Kebenei, his colleague stated.
