Regina Muthoni Kariuki

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Regina Muthoni Kariuki on Thursday, 13th November 2025. Regina, born on 17th July 1960 in Kiamuiru Village, Muruguru Location, Nyeri County was the treasured daughter of the late James Kariuki Rwigi and the late Veronica Wangui Kariuki.

Regina was a resolute, virtuous woman anchored in her faith, whose warmth touched every life she encountered. Regina’s greatest joy was her family.

She was a devoted mother of Sylvia Wangui Muchiri and Derrick Mbuchu, a supportive mother-in-law of Joseph Muchiri and Mercy Mwende Mbuchu, and a doting grandmother of Ririzuri Wairimu Muchiri, Kena Muthoni Muchiri, and Kiama Mbuchu, who brought immense pride and light into her life.

She was a cherished sister of the late Anne Nyambura, Francis Mureithi, Peter Ngunjiri, George Wanyiri, Agnes Wanjiku, Joakim Githinji, Wilson Rwigi, and the late Anne Wangechi. Regina’s deep love for her siblings and their families was evident in the numerous sacrificial support and direction she offered unconditionally.

She was an in law of Lydia Wairimu Mwaura & Fredrick Mwaura and Josephine Keli & Daniel Keli.

The cortege will depart from Montezuma Kabati on Friday, 21st November 2025 at 7:00 a.m., heading to her rural home in Matanya Village, Tigithi Ward, Nanyuki Sub-County, Laikipia County, where a funeral service will be held to honour her beautiful life and legacy.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, 19th November 2025, from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. at Nairobi Chapel, Ngong Road.
