Rev. Canon Dr. John Edward Limo

We announce the death of Rev. Canon. Dr. John Edward Limo that occurred in LA, California, USA on the 19th October 2025.

He was the son of the late Julius Aol Ogada and Mama Idalia Obiero of Seme, Kobita, currently of Lambwe Valley, Urianda Village, Homa Bay County; brother of Jane Penina Ogada, Jane Nelly Achieng Murumbi, Jennifer Odeny, David Onyango, Rosemary Awino Luchivia, and Rachel Atieno, the late Samson Ooko, Milka Amondi, Gilbert Oluoch, Nathaniel,Amos, and Anyango.

He is survived by his loving wife, Violet Atieno, and their children John Limo jr., Juliet Achieng, and Janet Limo, and two cherished grandchildren.

He was a son-in-law of the late Harrison Odhiambo Opiyo and Damaris Auma of Bolo-Kanyala, Waware, Rusinga, and a brother-in-law of Collins Harrison Odhiambo, Hon. Millie Mabona, M.P. Suba North Constituency “The bad gal”, Roseline Odhiambo, among others.

He was the Vice President of the Horace Turker Foundation.

His memorial service will be held at St. Stephen Cathedral, Kisumu on 19th November 2025 11.00 AM, before the body is taken to his Urianda home, Lambwe Division, Suba North Sub-county for burial on 20th November 2025.

The late Rev. Canon. Dr. John Edward Limo, fondly know as Padre, will be remembered as a man of deep faith, humility, and service.
