REV. FR. BEDE HERMAN MARANDU

With deep sorrow, the Bishop, priests, religious, family, and the entire Christian faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega announce the passing of Rev. Fr. Bede Herman Marandu, former Vicar General of the Diocese, who passed away on 6 December 2025 at around 5:00 p.m. at Mater Hospital.

Rev. Fr. Bede Herman Marandu was born on 1 August 1954 in Kiraeni, Mashati Parish, in the Diocese of Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania.

He was the firstborn son of the late Herman Muta.na Marandu and the late Basila Emmanuel Mwanamshiki. He was the eldest among nine siblings-five brothers and four sisters, including his younger brother, Rev. Fr. Valerian Msafiri.

FUNFRAL ARRANGEMENTS: Requiem Mass Monday, 15 December 2025, at 3:00 p.m. St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Kakamega. Vigil and Overnight Prayers Sacred Heart Parish, Mukumu

FUNERAL MASS AND BURIAL: Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at 10:00 a.m. St. Peter’s Seminary Grounds, Mukumu. Followed by burial at St. Peter’s Clergy Cemetery
