It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Rtd. Teacher Salome Nyakerario Araka formerly of Nyosia Primary School, her son Duke Araka Omurwa a teacher at Matieko Secondary School and grandson Dylan Omurwa. They died in a tragic road accident at Amaiga near Kegati.

The Late Salome was wife to the Late John Okeyo Omurwa. She is Mother to Douglas Oresi (KTRH), Dennis Magori (KTRH), Darius Onyambu (KTRH), The late Duke Araka (Matieko Sec), Danvas Ogoro (Ekerenyo Sub-County Hospital) and Delvin Kerubo (Nyaronde Sec). The Late Salome Nyakerario was born in 1952 to the late Mzee Araka Nyachwaya and Late Mama Mariamu Kwamboka in Nyagancha, Bosiango village.

Daughter in-law to Late Syslvestor Omurwa & Mama Mila Nyangweso of Kegati, Nyosia Village. Sister-In-Law to Monari, the Late Charles, Late Tom & Omwando. Mother-in-law to Mary Moraa (Nyamira County Hospital), Trizah Moraa (Oresi Level 4 Hosp), Everlyne Mokeira (Kiamokama Health Centre), Dorcah Kemuma (Gesero Sec Sch) and Cyrus Matube.

Kamati to Gladys, Annah, Olipher and Tabitha. Grandmother to Abigael, John, David, Keith, Kerstin, Johnson, Sally, Dwight, Late Dylan, Lysa, Lofty, Gaffine & Griffins. Sister to the Late Openda, Late Mongina, Late Nyachwaya, Late Miyogo, Maoncha, Nyakara, Menge, Late Priscah, Late Okonu, Mokeira, Nyamweya, Bandari, Moraa, Bwari, Matusi, Queen, Ontiri, Nyambeki, Makori and Ombogo. The late Duke Araka Omurwa was born in 1984 to the late Joseph Okeyo Omurwa and the late Mama Salome Nyakerario Araka. Husband to Dorcas Maraganga. Father to Dwight & the late Dylan. He is son-In-law to Joel Maraganga & Damaris Maraganga.

The late Dylan Araka Omurwa was born in 2018 to the late Duke Araka Omurwa and Dorcas Kemuma Maraganga. He was a brother to Dwight. Cousin to Abigael, John, David, Keith, Kerstin, Johnson, Sally, Lysa, Lofty, Gaffine & Griffins. Grandchild to the late John Okeyo, late Salome Nyakerario & Joel Maraganga & Damaris Maraganga.

The procession will leave Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital on 31/12/2021 for the funeral service and interment at their Kegati home on the same day.
