It is with humble acceptance of God’s will and profound sadness that we announce the passing on of Sarah MaryAnn Ayuma Khayo.
Loving wife of Eliud Khayo and caring mother of Dr. Lewis Khayo; daughter of the late Harriet Akinyi and the late Charles Okaalo; sister of Jethro Ayumba, Richard Osewo, Paul Moses Omoto and Michael Awirnbo; grand-daughter of Richard Osewo & Margaret Osewo, the late Richard Okaalo and the late Sarah Okaalo; daughter-in-law of the late Fredrick Khayo and Alice Khakasa Khayo; sister-in-law of Roselyda, Godfrey, Elkana, Carolyne, Benard, Emmanuel, Stanley, Rhoda, Gladys, Stephen, Winnie, Esther, David, Christopher, Jennifer, Mark, joseck, Philip, Daniel, Suchi, and many others, a cousin; niece; aunt;, friend and mentor to many.
There’ll be a fundraising event on Sunday, 24th August 2025 from 3:00 pm at ACK St. James Buruburu and a memorial service on Tuesday, 26″ August 2025, at the same venue, from 2:00 pm.
The cortege leaves Aga Khan University Hospital Mortuary on Thursday, 28th August 2025. Burial will take place at her home in Khalaba Village, Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County, on Saturday, 30th August 2025.
Family and friends are meeting daily at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, from 5:30 p.m., and at Mzee Khayo’s home, Khalaba Village, for prayers and funeral arrangements. All who knew Sarah are kindly invited to attend and celebrate her life.
She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever live in our hearts.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, support and prayers during this difficult time.
