“An African Prayer”

“Our forefathers liberated Africa. They restored the path to human dignity. But the forces of injustice have taken control. Masses are no longer potent. We have done that which we condemned others for doing. We have not done that which we were commanded to do. Hundreds of thousands have been murdered and millions forced into incurable poverty. Oh Lord, we crave deliverance and guidance. We can’t feed our unfortunate brothers and sisters, maimed during the wars of emancipation. Orphans, the mentally retarded, and beggars wander everywhere in our large but foreign controlled cities. Our sons and daughters are led to accept corruption as part of our culture. Seed of justice is un watered. Hopes for the future, when justice will be our shield and defender, still yet to be realized. Oh Lord, we crave guidance Tuhurumie”
