It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of retired Teacher Shem Mainye Opande.

Son to the late Samson Opande and the late Milkah Bironga of Magombo Village, Nyamira County. Son-in-law of the late Charles Atandi and Eunice Atandi. Loving husband to Grace Nyaboke (Ministry of Health).

Father to Lameck Opande (KUSCCO), Esther Kaguthi (Ministry of Education) and Brian Nyariki. Grandfather to Adam, Holana, Milena and Ephraim.

Father-in-law to Josephine, Kevin and Jackline. Brother to Teresa, the late Nyariki, the late Jerusa, the late Daniel, the late Samwel, Shadrach, Josephine, the late Pius, the late Joel, the late Bosire, the late Sarah and Nyatichi.

Brother-in-law to Florence, Rael, Francis, Jane, Jackline, Martha, Hellen Moraa, Joyce, Josephine Moraa, Hellen Daniel, Meroka, the late Mary, Eunice, the late Mose, the late Machuki, John. Korera to the late Elijah Miroro, Paustinah Miroro, Purity Nyawira, David Kibe, and Jane Kinanu.

Uncle to Ben Opande (Treasury), Richard Bosire (Safaricom), Chief Ongiri of Magombo, the Moses’, the Nyarikis, Omwengas, Nyaunchos, the Ogendos, the Momanyis, the Ombachis, the Bosires, the Osindes, the Pius and others. Friends and relatives are meeting daily at both his homes: in Kabete Vet Government Quarters and Magombo village, Nyamira County.

The main fundraising shall be held on Tuesday, 19th April, 2022 at Professional Centre opposite parliament. The cortege will leave Kenyatta National Hospital – Private Wing for a funeral service at Newlife SDA Church – 5th Ngong Avenue on 21st April, 2022 at 8.00 O’Clock.

Thereafter the procession will proceed to Magombo, Nyamira County for burial on Friday, 22nd April, 2022.
