Son of the late Apili Masafu (Omusaba) and the late Tepula Nekoye (Omuliuli).
Brother of Teina Nabucha Nambafu, the late Sara Nasimiyu Kuloba, the late Councillor Aineah Wafula, the late Rebecca Nekesa Karani, the late Peter Mumelo, the late Jamin Masafu, Joseph Muchasi, Mary Wamwayi, Bilha Nasaba, Jimmy Masafu among others.
Husband of the late Turutea Naliaka, the late Priscilla Khisa and Virginia Nyangweso.
Father of Juliana Wabomba, Mwalimu Fred Masafu, Ambassador (Dr) George Masafu, Frida Wamanga, Jane Okutoyi, Eng. Henry Wanyonyi, Joyce Barasa, the late Humphrey Toywa, the late Francis Masafu, Anna Bwisa, Juliet Napwora, Edward Wanyonyi, Antony Mulongo, the late Stephen Wambulwa, Eng. Sarah Wepukhulu (KPLC), Cyprian Wekesa, Barnabas Masafu, David Sundua. Kennedy Wakoli (KRA), Aggrey Wambulwa, Violet Murumba (West Media), Martin Wanjala and Emily Nasambu.

The cortege will depart from Life Care Funeral Home, Bungoma on 29th March, 2024 at 11:00 am for a memorial service at the Lutonyi Friends Church on the outskirts of Kimilili Town at 12:00.
Funeral service and burial will take place on Saturday 30th March, 2024 starting 9.30 am at his home Kamusinga Mulukhuna Village, Kimilili Constituency, Bungoma County.

Farewell Mzee! You were a trailblazer and visionary who championed education, church and social engagement in the community. You have left behind a solid family of professionals in a whole range disciplines who will carry on your great. May God rest your soul in eternal peace Amen.
