Simon Gachagua Karuri

1942 – 2020

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mr. Simon Gachagua Karuri on November 16th 2020 at Pope Benedict Hospital in Nyahururu.

Beloved husband of Joyce Nyambura Gachagua. Brother of Agatha Nyakinyua and Margaret Gathigia of USA. Father of Patrick M. Gachagua (KSG), Rachel Wambui (Lands), Apollo Karuri, Dorcas Wamaitha, the late Richard Mwaniki, the late Charity Muthoni, Antony Maingi, Beatrice Mumbi, Julius Irani, Lucy Wangui, George Githinji, Purity Gakii, Nathan Kabui and Julia Nyambura. Uncle of the late Mark Kimotho, Michael Karuri, Nick Maina and Collette Muthoni. He was grandfather of many.

Family and friends are meeting at his home in Ngarua and Kahawa Sukari for burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Pope Benedict Hospital on Tuesday 23rd November 2020 at 8.00 am. Funeral mass will start at 10.00am at his home in Ngarua followed by burial ceremony at his farm in Thiria, Ngarua – Nyahururu.
