It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Simon Ngugi Wa Gathoni that occurred on 30th May 2019.

Husband to Marion Wangui Ngugi; Son to Edith Gathoni Wainaina; Father to Edith Gathoni Ngugi & Amos Mwangi and Florence Wanjiru Ngugi; Guardian to Scolastica Murugi; Grandfather to Taraji Gakenia Wanjiru Mwangi; Brother to Mary Wambui, James Wainaina, Rachael Wanjiru, Jane Njango and the late Francis Kamau.

Friends and family are meeting daily at his residence in Uthiru — Gichagi for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home — off Mbagathi Way, Nairobi at 10:00am on 7th June 2019 for the funeral service and burial at his farm in Gikambura in Kiambu County from 11:00am on the same day.
