It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephen Kimutai Sing’oey of Lessos, Kipsirgoi Village, Nandi County, which occurred on Thursday, 7th January 2026. He was born in 1939 in the Chepigen area of Kericho County.

Beloved son of the late Kipkosgei Bwaley (Chebochok) and the late Esther Kosgei (Langok). Brother of the late David Kerich, Rael Sabul, Edwin Kosgei, Jane Sitienei, Mary Taiget, and John Kerich.

Loving husband of Rita Sing’oey. Devoted father of the late Peter Kiplagat, Rose Chepkwony, Violet Sing’oey, Joseph Mutai, the late Beatrice Jepkorir, the late Alex Kibet, Judith Tanui, Stanley Sing’oey, and Henry Sing’oey. Father-in-law of Nelson, Gladys, Philiph, and Sylvia.

Son-in-law of Ignatius Midikira Ngesero.

Cherished grandfather of Sharon, Sheila, Allan, Sandra, Silvia, Hazel, Hubert, Hillary, Irene, Benson, Albert, Bethwel, Collins, Jebichii, Edmond, Whitney, Celine, Mercy, Jahem, Deborah, Abel, and Angel.

Friends and family are meeting daily at his home in Lessos.

A fundraising will be held on Wednesday 14th January 2026 at the family home in Lessos.

The cortege will depart from Samaritan Farewell Home, Kapsabet, on Friday, 16th January 2026. The funeral service and burial will take place on Saturday, 17th January 2026, at his home in Lessos„ Nandi County.
