Zahra Adeka Odhiambo

It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Zahra Adeka Odhiambo. After a courageous and lifelong battle with Sickle Cell Disease, she departed this world peacefully on Tuesday, 2′ September 2025, in New Delhi, India.

Zahra was the cherished daughter of Eng. George Adeka (Safaricom PLC) and Phanice Andala of Otago Kamkwaya Village, Uyawi Sub-Location, Central Sakwa, Bondo, Siaya County. She was a loving sister of Christian Okello Odhiambo.

She was a beloved granddaughter of the late Sgt. Mathews Adeka Okello and Mama Consolata Adeka; the late Mzee Harrison Sakwa Andala and Mama Violet Amukowa Andala of Kakamega County; George Mai Okello; and the Owades, Otwalas, Gulos, Owallas, Ontiris, Weftingtons and Amwomos.

She was an adored niece of Fredrick Adeka, Jack Okello, Daniel Adeka: Caroline Aluchio, Terry Adekia, Dr. Mary Adeka; Caren Adeka; Victoria Malowa; Conciliar Treezer; Laureen; Mossy; Lilian; Irene; jackline; Rosemary; judy;Audrey; Anna;Yvonne; Becky; Zedy; Gerakfinc Jane: Dan Gor; Isaac Okech; Joseph Misolo; Christopher Otwala; George Odongo; Snr Sgt. Douglas Otwala (NPS). IP Willis Onduru (NPS); Joseph Otwala (FOP-Government Press), Sgt. Boniface Gauza (NPS), Sgt. Ken (or (NPS); Cpt John Ochieng (NPS); Janet Ojwang’ (NPS), Jairus Jalang’o (KPS); Kevin Okello (KPS): Kevin Otieno (KPS); Jack Miyayi (KPS); Jared Malowa; Eng Dennis Malowa; Eng. James Nyadianga; Elfy Obala; the Andala’s: Eclay, Newton, Paul. Andrew, Joseph, Mandela, and Morris.

She was a precious cousin of Vanessa, Ronnie, Serena, Mathew, Larissa, Nuru. Bianca. Emmanuel, Thomas, Caivin, Kyla, Anashe, Adam, Aiden, Conso, Tayo, Shelby, Makaila, Neima, Raphael, Amal. Maina, Mustafa, Aludo, Bradley, David, Maureen and may others.

Family, relatives, and friends are meeting daily at the family home in Unique Estate. lmara Daimai for prayers and funeral preparations.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, 11 September 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians Don Bosco Catholic Church, Upper Hill, Nairobi.

The Funeral Service and Interment will be held on Saturday, 13th September 2025, at their rural home in Otago Kamkwaya Village, Bondo, Siaya County.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life that taught us immense strength and love. You fought the good fight, now rest in eternal peace. Fare thee well, Nyar Olago yu are forever in our hearts. Zahra We loved you dearly, but the Lord loved you most.
