It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Martina Maende Shikuku, which occurred on Friday 4th November 2016. Maende was popularly known as Petronella on the acclaimed Pray & Prey TV show.
Daughter of the Late Hon. Martin Shikuku, former MP of Butere and the late Dolly Achieng Shikuku. Loving mother of Audrey Martin and Dolly Achieng. Loving sister of Sylvano Madanji, Emmanuel, Lucia, Martha Akolo, Amunga, Joan, Jacob Majimbo, Lucia Jnr. Musa, Abraham, Timothy, the late Sirila, the late Julia, the late Viginia, the late Junior. Step daughter of the late Beverly Shikuku and Fridah Shikuku. Sister in-law of Willie Owusu, Kennedy Akolo, Ashiraf Abdurakhman and Sealobheng Sengwatse. Aunty of Nestor, Lateley, Odima, Dolly Madanji, Mothusi Madanji and many more.
Daily meetings are being held every evening from 5pm at Madaraka Estate, MF 19. Main fundraiser will be held on Wednesday 9th November at The Kenya National Theatre from 5pm.
There will be a funeral service on Friday 11th November 2016 at Lavington Holy Trinity Church.
Burial will be held on Saturday 12th November at Kiminini Scheme Kitale.

DR. MARK SAMUEL GACHAU THEURI

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Dr. Mark Samuel Gachau Theuri on the 28th October 2016 in South Africa. He was studying for his Masters Degree in Anatomical Pathology at the prestigious University of Cape Town.
Mark was the son to the late Charles Muthuri Theuri and Nester Wanja Theuri. Loving brother of Daniel Waihenya, John Muchira (USA), Andrew Muchira and Mary Wangechi Theuri-Pipes (USA). Uncle of Cameron Theuri Pipes and Cassidy Wanja Pipes. Cousin of Mukami Maina Macharia, Leon Kago, Njeri Muchiri-Chachah, Johnson Maina (USA), William Muthuri (USA), Dr. Koi Muchira Tirima, Dr. Eva Nderu among others. There will be a meeting at the Nairobi Baptist Church today Wednesday, November 9th 2016 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home for a memorial service at the Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong Road on Friday, November 11th 2016 starting at 10am followed, by final rites and cremation at the Lang’ata Crematorium.

Master Alvin Nderitu was granted his angel wings on 7th November 2016 following a sudden illness. He spent his last moment with his loving parents and grandfather at home- Othaya, Nyeri. Alvin had a unique character and way of communication that was well understood. It was fascinating to see him develop and master the art of speech. The love we had for Alvin will remain engraved in our heart.Truly our only Alvin was lovable. Alvin is survived by his loving parents, Dr. James Nderitu (KNH) and Grace Macharia (KNH). His many aunts and uncles. Loving cousins and grandfathers, Cyrus Nderitu and Peter Macharia. His grandmothers Mary Wambui and the late Priscilla Wambui. His lovely niece Kui and an adorable nephew Remmy among others. Burial arrangement meetings are ongoing at homeland hotel Thika road and at their home Ngumo, mimosa road-mutomo estate, house number 26A from 6pm to 8pm The cortege leaves MP shah mortuary on Friday Ilth November2016, thereafter burial service will be held on the same day at I 1.00 am Othaya, Nyeri. “But thanks be to God! Loving father of Eric Muyia and step father of James Etemesi. Brother of Dorcas Wakhungu, Jackson lnganga, the late Florence Jacoyange, Agneta Ambundo, Veronica Lubanga, the late Osore Muyia, Javan, Lydia, Stanley and Ruth. It is with great sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Professor Washington Aggrey Jalang’o Okumu of Sakwa Wayendhe Siaya County who passed away peacefully on November 1st 2016 in his ancestral home, Dala Kwe, Nyang’oma, Sakwa, Siaya County.
Professor was internationally renowned for the pivotal role he played in South Africa’s 1994 peaceful democratic political transition.
Son of the late Joram Okumu and the late Mariam Okumu and Mama Grace Okumu; husband of the late Rispah Achieng Okumu. Father of Martha Okumu Oshomuvwe, Dorothy Okumu-Miller, Edith Okumu-Neeley, Caroline Okumu, Sara Okumu, Rosslyn Okumu, Isaac Okumu and David Okumu; father-in-law of Dr Joseph Oshomuvwe, Brian Miller, Darrin Neeley; grandpa of Belinda, Nino, Benjamin, Fiona, Lydia, Alexander, Davina-Joy. Son-in-law of the late Patrick Agol and Mama Zilpah Agol of Seme Kombewa, the late Dorkas Agol and Wilikista Agol. Wife of the late Stephen Theuri Wanyumba and Daughter of the late Mr & Mrs Kimani Macharia. Co-wife of Minar Njeri, Zelipa Konyu and Jedidah Njoki. Sister of Wanjiku Gitau and Macharia Kimani. Mother of Mwangi Stephen, Julius Kimani, the late Nancy Wanjiku, Nyaguthi Kariuki, Francis Theuri, Pastor Christopher Macharia, the late Wanyumba, Peter Mburu, Beatrice Wairimu Kungu and Lucy Mumbi Wahome. Grandmother of many. Friends and relatives are meeting today at her home in Kamatu Village, Kokeb Hotel Nakuru and St.Andrews Church in Nairobi from 5pm.
The cortege departs Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina, on Saturday 5th November 2016 at 9am. Funeral service will be held at Ngunguru Primary School from 11am.
Burial will follow thereafter at her home at Kamatu Village.
