It’s with great sorrow and humble acceptance that we the family of the late Samson Kipesa  Awanda  announces the Sudden death of Edwin Mayavi  Kipesa which occurred  on Sunday 22nd January. He was son to the late Samson Kipesa and Ezinah Khasoa of Bulukhombe village, Tiriki East, Shiru ward , Vihiga County. Loving husband to Maximilla Khatichi and father to Natasha, Michelle, Nicholas and Emmanuela of Umoja School . He was brother to Rose Muisyo of DPSM, Doreen Opala, Lifina Isigi, Gloria Anai of SOS Kisumu, Evelyne Kipesa of the department of health Uasin Gishu County, Christopher Kipesa, the late Roland Kipesa, Lilian Kipesa,Sheila kipesa and Alex Alwanda.

He was son in law to the late Jane Tsinjelekha and Kenneth Shitiavai. Brother in-law to  Lucas Opala, Douglas Isigi, Mathews Ndanyi of Radio Africa Group Eldoret, Catherine Amakove, Mildred Shinyasa and Benard Milimo. Uncle to Joel, Mike,Naomi, Bruce,Helen,Hilary, Eunice,Zwena, Dan, Jemuel, Ramsy, Blessing and Micah among others  Aunt to Susan of Uganda,Rebecca and Elizabeth,the late Hannah, Rhoda,Rispah,Gladys and Milka.

Meetings and prayers are taking place daily at Maringo.hse no C 2046 next to Dr Kraft  Pri  from 5.30pm  A funeral service was held  on 2nd February at the same church at 9.00 am and burial will take place on Saturday, 4th February at Bulukhombe village, , Shiru ward in Vihiga county for any contribution  send  to MPesa  0721299291.

Darling Mother of the late Paul and Alice, Elizabeth, Jane, Wilson and Janet, Pasilcer, Alice, Nancy, Eunice and Maritim, Lillian, Hon. Senator George Khaniri and Eunice, the late Alex and Leah, Jacklyn and Leonard and the late Jackson. Grandmother of Oscar, Maureen and 33 others. Sister of the late Rosa, John, Sosi. the late Estella, Florence and Joyce. Friends and family are meeting daily at All Saints Cathedral where a thanks giving and support meeting will be held on Thursday 2nd February, 2017 from 5:30 pm. There will be a memorial service at CITAM Valley Road on Wednesday, 8th February, 2017 at 2.30pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Thursday 9th February,20 17 for her Serem home in Vihiga County. The burial service will be held at Kapsotik Primary School on Saturday 11th February 2017 starting from 8.30am and thereafter burial at her Serem home, Kapsang’anyi village, Vihiga County.

It is with profound shock and regret that we announce the sudden death of Dr. Eunice Jeanette Songa-Saraceno, formerly of Gertrude’s Garden Children’s Hospital and most recently at Kenyatta National Hospital for the University of Nairobi Masters programme in Anesthesiology.

Beloved daughter of the late Dan Oyallo Songa & Mrs. Violet Merab Songa. Cherished and devoted wife of Dr. Luca Saraceno. Doting Mother of Sofia Francesca Akwabi Saraceno. Daughter-in-law of Francesco and Clelia Saraceno of Milan, Italy. Sister to Eugene, Fanuel and Duncan Songa. Niece to the late James Songa, Frank Songa (United Nations), Dr. Wilson Songa (former PS), Dr. Jackson Songa (Moi University), the late Margaret Songa, the late Ernest Songa, Abigael Wakhu, Joan Songa-Apilli (USA), Dr. Josephine Songa (KALRO), Dr. Emily Songa (Moi University), John Etemesi, (Former PC), Late William Shikanda, Dorcas Maende, Emily Genya, Rachel Kituyi and Habil Wando of Butere. She was a granddaughter to the late Harry Songa & Truphena Songa of Bukura.

Eunice was a cousin, friend, Auntie, colleague and confidante to many.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 4pm on Wednesday 1st February for an overnight vigil at their Loresho home. On Thursday 2nd February, there will be a church service at St. Marks ACK Church, Westlands, starting at 10.00am. Thereafter the body leaves for Wilson airport to Kitale.

Eunice will be laid to rest on the family farm in Endebess, Kitale, on Saturday 4th February 2017 from 10.00am. Contributions towards funeral expenses are welcome and may be made through MPESA to telephone number: 0722 932 523.

Wife of the late Gregory Musundi Kuchio and mother of the late Dick, Evaline, Maureen, Jane, Caro, the late William, Eliud, Imelda and Karen. Mother-in-law of the late Maurice Ogola, Cleophas Asiago, Pamela Sudi and Chris Adeya. She leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Sister of the late Michael Ngira, the late John Ouma, Joseph Apopo Okelo, Teresina Achola Majale and Henry Odukhula. Step-sister of the late Josephat Ngira, the late Sebastian Apopo, the late Bernard Mujema, Flotea Dwele Ongoro, Florence Apopo, Maurice Munyenywe and Joseph Ochieno among others. Sister-in-law of the late Appolonia Makokha, Scholastica Tindi, the late Ignatius Kuchio, Abrahain Makokha, im Kuchio_ Cyprian Echesa_ Margaret Ngira the late Jeniffer Ayuma, Phillis Adua, the late Patroba Majale, Justin Akuku and Robina Namusoke among others.

Burial arrangements are currently underway and she will be laid to rest on Saturday 4th February at her home in Elukonge Village, Marachi East Location, Busia County.

 

Olympian Korir loses daughter in Switzerland under unclear circumstances. Faith Jepkosgei, the daughter of former Olympic 3,000m steeplechase champion Julius Korir, who was murdered in Switzerland, will be laid to rest in her home in Switzerland on Monday. Florian Wahli, the husband to Faith, said he had landed in Switzerland and funeral arrangements were underway. “We are planning to lay her to rest on Monday. Her father, who won steeplechase gold medal for Kenya at the 1984 Olympics is still in shock following the killing of his daughter. The relationship between the victim and the perpetrator has not been established but the police confirmed that the victim knew the perpetrator, the blog adds.
