Son of the late Simon Ngunyi Gutu and Judith Warui Ngunyi. Son-in-law of the late Edward Kiura Karaba and Jane Wamarwa Kiura. Beloved husband of Rose Wakuthii Mureithi. Loving father of Gerald Kinyua, Simon Fundi and Evajackline Warui. Cherished brother of Rose Nancy Wanjira (Mwea), John Gutu (Masai Technical), Josphat Mwai (Rwika Technical), Daniel Ndambiri (KASNEB), Irene Thiguku and Lucy Muthoni (all of Kajiado), the late Bernard Githinji, David Gitari (Mombasa), Esther Wangu (Kimunye) and Michael Kinyua (Gikomba). Brother-in-law of Michael Bundi, Michael Muchiri, Robert Mbugua, Jane Mwai, Grace Gutu, osphine Ndambiri and Wambui Gitari. Cousin of Munene, Kinyua and Wanjiku Nyaga (all of USA), Wawira Damaris, Ngari Kimotho, Wangu Gichobi, Joseph Pius, Gitari Githinji, Gutu Mwai, Ngari Kimotho, Wangu Gichobi among others. Uncle of many.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Thursday, 23/03/2017 at 7.30am for funeral service and burial at Kianjogu village, Thaita sub-location, Inoi North ocation, Kirinyaga County.

John Murathe Mutitu

It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved John Murathe Mutitu on 17th March 2017, after an illness bravely borne.

Third born son of Eng. Crispus Mutitu and Prof Eunice Mutitu. Father of Ariana Wanjiru. Brother of David and Wanjiru Mutitu (Australia), Peter Mutero, Dr James Gichuhi (USA) and Mark Maina. Uncle of Naika Wanjiru and Naila Njeri. Cousin of the Muteros, Njukus, Karongos and Kabuages. Nephew of Dr Murathe Muthee, Wanjiku Muchiru, Thomas Maina, Albert Kariuki, Dr James Mutero, Prof Lucy Kabuage, Prof Maina Mutero, Wycliffe Kariuki, Caroline Njoki and Josephine Wakarindi among others.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funerad Home on Friday 24th March at 8.30am.

The funeral service will be held at Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong Road, from 10am. Thereafter he will be laid to rest at Lang’ata Cemetery from 1pm.

Relatives and friends are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements at Nairobi Baptist Church on Tuesday 21st March and Wednesday 22nd March 2017 from 5.30pm.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Susan Nyambura Wanini Waweru of Mathira, Kabiruini, Maria farm. Death occurred on 11/03/2017 after a short illness.

Wife of Wilson Waweru Wamae. Mother of the late Ann Gathii, Richard Wamae (Kisumu), Shad rack Kagemua (KPLC), Alice Wachira, Mercy Muthoni (Nairobi entrepreneur), Robert Gitari, Rosemary Nyathiu Ngorano (Health Centre), William Gichohi (Business Man) and Caroline Gacheru (Rockyhill School – Namanga). Mother in law of the late Ndoge Kiminda, the late Jackson Wachira, Grace Kagema, Veronica Muchiru, Margaret Waithera, Stella Wahome, Esther Wamae, Sam Gacheru, Francis Njuguna and Wangari Wambogo, Wanini Waweru. Auntie of Mr & Mrs Kimbo Zakayo Wajani, Kagema Gichohi (Hewifi House) among others. Susan has left behind 45 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Eureka Hotel in the CBD from 5.30pm – 8:00pm for funeral arrangements. The cortege leaves Consolata Hospital Mathari on Friday 17th March 2017 at 8:00am for funeral service which will be held at her home in Kabiruini, Maria Farm, thereafter.

Paul Bora

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our beloved Paul Bora which occurred on 10th March 2017 at Nakuru War Memorial Hospital.

Son of the late Dr. Babu Bora and Jennifer Bora (Public Health) of East Kabuoch Location, Homa Bay County. Step son of Dr. Everlyne Ashiono. Step brother of Sarah, Samantha and Sandra. Grandson of the late Bora Owino and the late Sarah Bora. Nephew of the late Mwalimu Ojwang Bora, James Nyatuga, Maria Aboge, James and Naphtaly Oyugi among others. Cousin of Charles Ojwang, Eng. Peter K’ Ojwang and Eng. Chris Agong among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at their home, Naka Estate. A funds drive to offset medical and funeral expenses will be held on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 at the Old Town Hall Nakuru from 5:00pm.

Contributions may be sent to Mpesa No. 0726-301-227. Funeral service on 24th March 2017 at Crater SDA and thereafter the body will be transported to their home in Kabuoch, Homa Bay County.

Burial on Sunday 26th March 2017.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Daniel Ng’ang’a Gitachu which occurred on Thursday 16th March 2017.

Son of Dr Joshua Gitachu Mwaura and Joan Wambui. Loving husband of Veronica Njeri. Father of Daniella Wambui, Joshua Gitachu, Zack Kiguru and Joan Wambui. Brother of the late Eric Mwaura, Charity Wanjiku, Anne Wanjiku, Kenneth Mwaura, Evelyn Wanjiru, Faith Njeri and Edna Wangu.

Prayers and preparation meetings are taking place at his father’s residence in Majengo, Thika, daily from 4pm.

The cortege leaves Bishop Okoye Funeral Home Thika on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 at 8.00 m. for the funeral service and burial to be held in Gathanji, next to Gathanji Primary School, Gatanga Constituency, Murang’a County.

Mrs Jane Wanjiru Kaniu (Nyina wa Andu) 1944 – 11/03/2017

Death has occurred of Mrs Jane Wanjiru Kaniu of Thome Estate. Nairobi (formerly of Huplan(K) Ltd) on Saturday I I th March 2.017 in the USA after a brave fight with cancer.
Kaniu was the wife of the late Ephantus Kaniu Mwangi of Githuya Village, Kandara Muranga County. Daughter of the late Bedan Maina Nona and Grace Wambui of Githumu Village. Mother of Edward Maim and Marion Wariara (Kaned Agencies), Catherine Wanjiku and Moses Ndegwa, Grace Wambui (ISK) and James Nganga (KRA), Purity Waithera and Francis Kangethe, David and Roselyn Mwangi, Sammy and Patricia Ngugi. Grandmother of many. Sister of Julius Nona (Wa Grace) and Faith Wanjiru of Githumu. Daughter in law of the late Ephraim Mwangi Kaniu and Agnes Wanjiku (Ngeneci) of Githuya village, Kandara.
Family and friends are meeting at her Thome home and at St Andrews Church on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Tuesday 21st March 2017 at 6.00pm. Prayers will also be held at the family home in Githuya.
