It is with a mix of celebration of the Lord’s blessings and heavy hearts that we announce the passing on of our dear mum, sister, mum in law, auntie, cucu, friend and above all, a believer and tenacious fighter for freedom.

Wamutwari was the daughter of the late Luka and Pauline Wairimu Muhia. Sister of the late Michael Macharia, the late Peter Njuguna, Rev. Stephen Muhia & Anne Mwaura, and Joseph & Fidelis Ngugi. Mother of Thomas Mutwari, Mary Wambui, Josphat Mwaura, Elizabeth Wairimu & Jane Muthoni Gakwa, the late Michael  Macharia, Lucy Waithera Chege, Salome Nyambura, Francis Gitau and John Karanja. She was especially cared for by Rose Wanjiru Karanja.

Wamutwari is an auntie to many and leaves behind many tucucus and tucukuru.

Friends and relatives are meeting at St Andrews PCEA Church from 5.30pm on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st April 2017. Meetings are also being held daily at her home in Riabai Village, Kiambu County.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan University Hospital on Tuesday 25th April 2017 at 8am for a requiem mass to be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiambu. This will be followed by burial at her home in Riabai Village.

She has fought the good fight. Now she has taken her final bow to rest in eternal peace.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of our dear Mama Beatrice Chisinyo Zani of Chibwaga, Vyongwani, Kwale, Mama Beatrice was the wife of the late John Masumbuko Zani. Mother of Moses Zani (formerly of UTC), Elijah Zani (KPA), Naomi Zani (CIP-Nairobi), Ruth Zani-Mwashimba of Nairobi and the late Esther K. Zani. Mother in-law of Lucy Mwamchera (formerly KQ), Catherine (CBK), Hywath (KPA), Suliman (Mt. Kenya Univ.) and Sam Mwashimba (Elsamere). Elder sister of Bakari, the late Mariarnu, Hamisi, Mwanarusi and Nuru. Grandmother of Sophie, Haroun, Carlos, Randani, Chisinyo, Elvira, Chessy, Andrew, Stacy, Kwesi, Mtalaki, Lali, Naema and Vinani among others. Step mother of Josephine, Rose, Kerry, Emily Ndeme, Betty and Ethel. Friends and relatives are meeting daily for funeral arrangements at the All Saints Cathedral from Thursday 20th April, 2017 starting at 5.00 p.m. There will be a major fundraiser on Friday 21st, 2017 at All Saints Cathedral starting from 5.00 pm to offset funeral expenses. Simultaneous meetings will be held at Pandya Hospital,
Mombasa and at her home in Vyongwani, Kwale. The cortege leaves Pandya Hospital mortuary on Friday, 28th April at 9.00 am for a memorial service at St. Stephen’s Church,Vyongwani, Kwale, and thereafter, an overnight vigil at her Vyongwani home. Burial will take place on Saturday 29th April, 2017 starting at 10.00 am at the St. Stephen’s Church Grounds.

Son of Arthur Thuranira and Lena Thuranira. Brother of Kellen Mwendwa (Maua Methodist Nursing) and Denis Mutwiri of Kibirichia. Nephew of Patrick Kithinji (NBI), Harriet Kimaita (Naari) and Richard Kirimi (NBI). Grandson of Elijah Kinoti (Kibirichia) and the late Jane Kinoti; cousin of Ruth Nkatha, Teddy Karani, Nicole Karimi, Kevin Kimaita, Clinton Mwenda, Linda Naitore, Hope Kendi, Jeremy Muthomi, Kathure, Muthamia, Josie, Yvonne,Ann, Favour, Mwika and Charles. She was the beloved wife to Paul Chiira Gachie. Daughter to the late David Mwenjeri Gichu and the late Loise Wanjiku Mwenjeri of Tumaini OlKalau. Mother to Gad Githaiga, Shadrack Mwenjeri and Rachael Njeri. Daughter-in-law to Lydia Wan Jeri. Sister to the Late Susan, Maina Dave, Mary, Samuel, Grace (Germany) and Leah (Canada). She was a Sister-in-Law cousin, aunt and a friend to many.
Family and friends will meet at her residence in Mwiki, Kasarani and their rural home in Kiandumba, Chinga location for daily prayers and funeral arrangements as from 5:30pm. There will also e meetings at PCEA st Andrews Nairobi which will be on Thursday and Friday. Friday being a fund raising towards her hospital bill and funeral expenses.
