The Kinyenje Family would like to thank the Almighty God for the gift of a mother, sister, aunty and friend and the memories of which we shall forever cherish in our hearts.

We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to our relatives, friends, neighbours and well-wishers who stood with us during the period of Anne’s illness and passing away. In our time of deep pain we felt the overflowing love. We were deeply touched by the numerous calls, texts, condolence cards, visits, prayers, words of comfort and encouragement as well as your moral and tremendous financial support.

Special thanks to the funeral orgariizing committees both in Nairobi and Kereita, Rev. Fr. Dr. Vincent Kamiri and the co-celebrants who officiated the Requiem Mass for Anne. Our heartfelt thanks to the Holy Trinity (Kileleshwa) choir, the Kereita Choir and the St Joseph the Worker, Our Lady of Assumption and Philip Rinaldi Small Christian Communities. We also appreciate the. “Graemes” for conducting the evening prayer sessions and the Kaplan & Stratton colleagues for their support.

We also wish to thank Anne’s caregivers and the medical staff for the tireless and loving care they afforded to Anne in the later years of her life. The Kinyenje family also appreciates the immense support of all those who travelled from far and wide to be with us as we laid Anne to rest. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to celebrate Anne’s beautiful life with us.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta National Hospital Farewell Home on Friday 12th May 2017 at 6.00 am thereafter funeral service shall be held at ACK Emanuel Gataragwa church at 10.00 am, then burial at her husband home Gataragwa village, Gitugi location Mathioya Sub-county.

Beloved husband of Sheffield Akinyo of Homa Bay County Hospital. Father of Easter Mabel, Grace Julian and Sue. Brother of the late Rosemary Millicent Obat, George Ojuondo (Maseno University), Patrick, Peter, Philip Obare (DC Meru), Emmanuel Odawo, Philemon, Christabel, Judith, Gilbert, Erick, Tobias, Lawi, Collins (Migori Prison) and Wycliffe. Son in law of Mama Sarah Achieng’ Onyango of Central Karachuonyo. Uncle of Yvonne, Eddy Obat, Kevin, Hazel, Brian, Viola, Georginah and Chelsea of USA, Andy, Brian, Bella, Ian, Dylan, Manuela and Ivy. He was a cousin of many.

Today marks the 6th month since we laid Bishop to rest. As a family we wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Almighty God for his continued provision of peace and comfort as we continue to celebrate the life and legacy of our general and hero.

We extend our humble appreciation to our entire family, relatives, friends, neighbours and professional colleagues for your overwhelming presence and continued support.

We recognize and thank the leadership and congregation of CHRISCO Church in Kenya led by Mama Cora Das, The International Christian Centre and CITAM Woodley.
