Son-in-law of the late Mr.& Mrs. James Mungai. Husband of Esther Njoki. Father of James Mungai,Averina Njeri, Charles Kemu lkenye, Sophie Ikenye (BBC) & George Ngugi. He was Father-in-law of Felista Mungai, Mercy Munyaka and Linda Kihara.
Brother of the late Henry Karanja Ikenye, Nganga,Wanjiru,Wairimu, Njambi, Maj.Gen.(Rtd) Peter N. Ikenye, the late Joseph Muthotho, Muthoni Gichuhi, Margret Muthoni (AFC) and James Ngugi amongst others. Brother-in-laW of the late Gad, Rachael, Thungu, the late Turuthi Mungai, the late Wangui, Veronica and Alice Njeri. Beloved Uncle of the late Charles Ikenye (Eldoret), Mrs.Mary Njeri Karangi and Maj. Gen.Andrew Ikenye, Lydiah Njeri Nganga, Samuel Mwaura, Maina Wachira (Australia), Bernard Mungai Kariuki (Sweden), Charles Ikenye (UK), Annalise W. Muthotho, the late Ngugi (FBI), Charles Ikenye (Kamjoro), Lt. Charles lkenye James, Jimmy Gad, Jimmy Turuthi, Sophia Kariuki, Callagan Mungai, Lucy Ndungu, James Mungai and Wachira Gikonyo amongst others. Grandfather of Carol,Terry, Uno, Soni, Sherry, Una, Jemmah & Sifa. Friends & relatives are meeting daily at P.C.E.A. St. Andrew’s Church Nairobi from 5.00 to 7.30 pm and also at his home in Matathia from 4pm.
The burial will be held on Tuesday 16th May, 2017 at his Magina Farm.
The retirement and thanksgiving service for his wife, Lay reader Esther Njoki lkenye has been postponed indefinitely.
