It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Chris Oluoch Ouya Malitt, which occurred on Saturday 10th May, 2025, in a tragic road accident
Until his death, he was an employee of the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC).
Chris was the beloved husband of Dophine Awuor and a devoted father of Whitney Eliana.
Son of Mwaltmu Shadrack Ouya Malitt and Cllr. Margaret Awino Ouya, and the brother of Elizabeth Achieng (Homa Bay). Eddie Malitt (Nairobi), Godfrey Omondi (MSA), Maurice Okello (Nairobi), and Sarahlea Adhiambo (United Kingdom).
Brother-in-law of Joash Ogone, Olivia, Lydia, Alice, Glana, Phelicia, Lydia, Catherine, Lencer and Christine.
Uncle of Bradley, Chloe, Andrew, Doane, Loane, Eldrick and Gabriela. Chris was the grandson of the late Gideon Malirt, the late Leah Auma, Margaret, and Beldina.
Nephew of Samuel Ouso, Moses Ware, Richard, Benjamin, Kepha, Stephen, John, George, Eric, Jared, Ishmael, Dancun, Evans, Daniel, and Elizaphan. He was the nephew of Esther Ouso, Rebecca Ware, Pamela, Everline Ogaga,Venencia, Scola, Everline Onyango, Mollem, Sarah,Ven, Phelesia, Susan, Lilian, and the late Jane Owiti.
Other maternal figures in his life included Tabitha Oiala, Esther Dwallo, Mary Ogwang, Monica Winda, Roseline Okoth, Grace Mboya, Milka, and Jane Qmwono.
Chris was the cousin of Willis, Elijah, Theodore, Bob, David, John, Benjamin, Joshua, Robert, Fidell, Shelton, Laura, Pastor Kevin, Kennedy, Anne Ouso, Lilian, Joanne, Silvia, Daizy, Branna, Beldine, Emily, Eileen, Diddy,Tamara, and many others.
Family and friends meet daily at his rural home in Kauko village, Kanyipir Location, Kibiri Ward, Rachuonyo West Sub-County, Homa Bay County. And at his brother’s residence in Nairobi’s Kilimani Estate.
The cortege will leave Gendia Hospital Mortuary on 22nd May, 2025, at noon for the funeral service and burial, which will be held at his rural home in Kanyipir, Homa Bay County led by Oneno Nam SDA Church, Omindi District.
