With profound sorrow and heartfelt respect, we announce the passing of Joshua Okumu Akach, who departed from us peacefully on June 7, 2025.

Born on January I, 1956, to the late Akach Awino and the late Consolata Nyandiga Ndawa, Joshua hailed from Kanyamwa Location, Komungu Sub-location, Kobodo Division, in Ndhiwa District of Homa Bay County.

Devoted husband of Mrs. Veronica Achieng Okumu, with whom he shared a steadfast and loving partnership. Their union was blessed with four children: Boniface Okumu, Phillip Okumu, Beatrice Okumu, and Kevin Okumu.

His family continued to grow with the addition of cherished daughters-in-law Lucy Nyarwai, Linda Murugi, and Valentine Kerubo, and a beloved son-in-law, Amos Momanyi. Joshua’s pride and joy were his grandchildren: Sandra. Kaylah, Aisha, Meghan, Ibrahim, Kenzo, jamal, Migan, Wesonga, Joel, ldah, Daniel, Alpha.

Uncle of Barrack Akach, Evans Odhiambo, Nancy Atieno, and Sharon, Anyango, Eric Omondi, Henry Ochieng, Felix Onyango, Jack Omondi, Swinny Oguda, Michelle Oguda, Rahael Akach and Prof. Nguka.

Joshua will be fondly remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and the quiet strength he carried with grace. His warmth, kindness, and steady presence touched the lives of many. Through his gentle generosity, wise counsel, and deep love, Joshua left a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.Though he has departed from this world, his memory lives on – in the hearts of his family, his community, and all who had the privilege of walking part of life’s journey with him.

Joshua’s body is currently resting at Kirindo Mortuary. Funeral arrangements are underway, with his final resting place to be at his rural home in Komungu on June 27, 2025.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing on of Stephen Mokaya Nyakundi, on the 2 of June, 2025 at Pandya Memorial Hospital in Mombasa County. Until his demise, Stephen was diligently working at Harambee DT Sacco as Mombasa FOSA Branch Manager.

Born on 26th January, 1980, to Samuel Getuma and Truphosa Nyaboke of Birongo Location, Koumbu Sub-county of Kisii County.

Stephen was a devoted husband of Mrs. Risper Kwamboka and their union was blessed with three lovely children: Christine Gesare Mokaya, Joan Nyaboke Mokaya and Brightone Mokaya.

He was a beloved brother of the late Stella Nyang’ara, Jared Koroso, Duke Nyangoto and Emmanuel Getuma.

He was son-in-law of the late Philip Onkoba Atemba and Dorcas Moraa of Nyanieni Village, Barongo Location. His in-laws include; Friday Bosibori, Ruth Monchari, Janet Nyanchoka, Pacifica Mokeira  and Damaris Isaboke.

He was a loving uncle of Derick Koroso, Daniel Koroso and Junior Koroso.

Stephen will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family and the warmth and kindness he extended to all who knew him. His legacy is entrenched in the lives he touched with quiet generosity, heartfelt counsel, and enduring love.

Though he has left this earthly life, Stephen Mokaya Nyakundi’s memory lives  on in the hearts of his family, his community, and all those who were privileged to share in his journey.

It’s with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Sir Simeon Kiprotich Korir, a Procurement Consultant at the Directorate of Public Private Partnership, National Treasury.

He was the son of William Kipkorir Koske and Elizabeth Koske of Chilchila Ward, Kipkelion West Kericho County.

It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Francis Anthony Ndung’u Mburu on 1st June 2025. Francis was the Director of Goldwings Events Ltd, Nairobi.

He was a devoted husband of Sheila Ndung’u (née Mungai), and a loving father of Zawadi, Taji, and Tamasha.

A cherished son of John and Mary Mburu, and a beloved brother of Charles Mwangi, Patrick Ngugi, Rosemary Wanjiku, and Roselyne Wairimu.

He was son-in-law of the late Professor Joseph Maina Mungai and the late Jane Waminia Mungai. He was also a supportive brother-in-law of Jane Mwangi, Sam Muraguri, Andrew Mungai, Christine Mungai, Bernice and Peter Kimacia, among others. Francis was a dear nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, mentor and an inspiration to many whose lives he touched deeply.

Prayer meetings are being held at the family home in Ridgeways, at Ridgways Brook Gardens, off Kiambu Road, on Friday 6th and Sunday 8th June 2025. Meetings will begin at 2:00pm.

The burial and Mass Service will be conducted on Saturday 7th June 2025 at the Home of Kawuor Imbo, Bolo Location, Nyakach.
