HON. JUSTICE FREDRICK OCHIENG ANDAGO

SUNSET: SEPTEMBER 17, 2025

With great sadness, we share the news of the passing of Hon. Justice Fredrick Ochieng Andago, Judge of the Court of Appeal of Kenya. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary during this time of great sorrow.

Justice Ochieng joined the Judiciary in 2003 as a Judge of the High Court, where he served with distinction in various stations, including the Civil Division, Kitale, Kakamega, the Criminal Division, the Commercial and Admiralty Division, and Kisumu. In 2022, he was elevated to the Court of Appeal.

He will be fondly remembered as a towering figure in the development of Kenya’s commercial law jurisprudence and as a strong advocate for the promotion of alternative dispute resolution. At the time of his passing, he was serving as the Chairperson of the Court Annexed Mediation Taskforce, which is spearheading the national roll-out of Court-Annexed Mediation.

Prior to joining the Judiciary, he had a distinguished career as an Advocate of the High Court in the firm of Kaplan & Stratton Advocates for almost two decades.

We stand in solidarity with his family, friends, and the entire Judiciary community during this difficult period of mourning. We call for sensitivity and compassion as we share in this collective grief.

Fr. Fernando Jimenez, Priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei and Chaplain of Kianda School, peacefully departed this life into God’s presence on Saturday, 13th September 2025 at Aga Khan Hospital.

Son of the late Juan Jimenez and the late Cipriana Fernandez, of Murcia, Spain. He was the last born of five brothers and two sisters.

He was the beloved first-born son of the late Jeremiah Kibiro Kimani and the late Ruth Mugure Kibiro, and son-in-law of the late Joseph Mwangi Kabugi and Prisca Wangu Mwangi.

Brother of Rachael Nyambura Njuguna, Naomi Wanjiku Kibiro, Jesee Kariuki Kibiro, the late Josephine Mukami Kibiro, Charles Gathungu Kibiro, the late Geoffrey Mugo Kibiro, Margaret Wanjiru Kibiro, Monicah Wagikuyu Kibiro. and Jane Wambui Kibiro. He was a devoted grandfather to many.

To A Great Man

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Kioko Nziolca, who left us far too soon on September 7, 2025, at the age of 21 Born on December 10, 2002, Jason was a beloved son, brother, cousin and friend. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the light he brought into the lives of those who knew him.

Jason attended Westland’s primary school and Kathonzweni AIC boarding primary school, Mukaa Boys High School, graduating in 2020, and later joined the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) to pursue Biomedical Engineering. He was dedicated to his studies and inspired by a dream to improve lives through science and innovation.

Beyond academics, Jason was a young man of many talents and interests. He had a passion for art, often expressing himself creatively, and a deep love for history, which he enjoyed discussing with friends and family. His curiosity, creativity, and bright spirit left an impact on everyone around him.

Jason is survived by his loving father, Mike Kioko, his brother Jesse Shaban and is preceded in death by his mother the late Emrnaculate Ndambuki. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family and many friends who will forever cherish the moments they shared with him.

A funeral service to honour Jason’s life will be held on September 20th 2025 at Makueni County, Ngetha location, Kitandi village along Emali – Wote road near Matiliku secondary School.

Family and friends are invited to gather, celebrate his life, and share in remembering the joy he brought into the world and love he brought into the world. Though his journey ended far too soon, Jason’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who know and loved him.
