Arthur Clifford Ochien’g Okumu

October 25, 1977 – October 19, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that the Okumu family announces the passing of our beloved firstborn son and brother, Arthur Clifford Ochieng Okumu.

Arthur was the cherished son of Joseph Okumu and Vicki Okumu; devoted brother of Gloria Okumu, Dr. Rowland Okello Okumu, Kim Anthony Okumu, and Barbara Atoz Okumu.

He was brother in law of Faith Mutua Okello and Lynn Mwangangi Okumu; and a loving uncle of Hawi, Jedidah, Kinda,Amani, and Wema.

He was also a beloved grandson and nephew and cousin to many.

He is an alumnus of Starehe Boys Centre and graduated with a B.Corn from Kenyatta University and a CPA from Strathmore University. He later worked at GlaxoSmithKline and Barclays Bank.

A funeral mass will be held at Nairobi Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, at 2pm.

The burial will take place at his home in Thim Kwe, Kisaju, on Thursday October 30th starting from 9:00 a.m.

Austin Auma Kapere

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Austin Auma Kapere on 22nd October 2025 at the Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu after a short illness bravely borne.

He was the beloved husband of the late Penina Chepkoech Kapere and Margaret Atieno Kapere.

Son of the late Antonius Kapere Adie and the late Maria Gombe Mbai and son-in-law of the late Jairo Samoei, Lydia Samoei, Joyce Samoei, the late Marcelus Omwandho and the late Agnes Ornwandho.

Father of Benard, George, Jackline, Carol, Nicole, Lynn, Samora, Martin, Eddie, Keke and Dette. Father-in-law of Eunice, Judith, Emmanuel, Mildred, Roba and Nkatha.

Brother of Alloice,the late Lucia, Prisilla, Sellah, Monica and Francis.

Brother in-law of Sally, Zipporah, Florence, Alice, Bramwel, Caroline, Everlyne, Joan, Sila, Janet, Anne and Jeff. Grandfather and great-grandfather to many.

He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Milimani on Thursday, 30th October 2025 at 10.00 am.

Burial will be held on Friday, 31st October 2025 at his home in Kawuor Location, Kadie Village in Kabondo Kasipul.

Professor Peter Anthony Martinus Nyongesa Misiko

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Professor Peter Anthony Martinus Nyongesa Misiko, which occurred on Friday, 17th October 2025, at St. Francis Community Hospital, Nairobi, after a short illness. Professor Misiko was a distinguished scholar and educator who served at Egerton University upto 1998 when he retired.

Born on 11th June 1932 to the late Mzee Nicholas Walumoli Misiko and the late Susana Namikoye in Chelekeyi—Misikhu, he was the beloved husband of the late Esther Jepkorir Misiko, and loving father of Cynthia Nasike Chebii, Prof Chelagat Namulunda Misiko, Nafula Elizabeth Misiko, David Tembi Misiko, Ruth Misiko Villinger and Paul Mabonga Misiko.

Brother of the late Edward, Matthias, Christine, Maurison, Dr Stanley Mabonga, Thomas, the late Josephat, Bishop George Mabonga, Androno, Wangila. the late Gilbert, the late Alexander, Lynette, Nafuna among others.

Son-in-law of the late Phillip Kandie Cheptoo and Susan Tungo Kandie. Brother in law of the late Martha Kolomiy, the late Peris Kimwarey, the late Enoch, Eunice Cherogony, Agnes Cherogony, the late Amos, Dinah Tongony, the late Eric, Dr Kaabon, Amb. Julius Kandie, the late Solomon, Mary, Rosebellah, Loice, Brigid, Eunice, Samuel among others.

Father-in-law of Samuel Kangogo, Brian Stefanec, Nelson Sitonik, Jennifer Lagat, JandouweVillinger and Clarice Ouma.

Cherished grandfather of Allan, Bryan, Chebet, Chepchumba, Chipego, Arnold, Christian, Massimo, Naima, Ashley, and Darian.

Requiem Mass will take place today Thursday, 30th October 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Misikhu Parish at 12.00 noon.

Burial will be on Friday, 31st October 2025, at 12:00 noon, at the family home in Kambini Village, Kimilili Rural Sub-location, Bungoma County.

David Nduati Kihara

It is with deep sorrow, yet with humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing of David Nduati Kihara of Gituru village, Gituru Location, Kandara Sub-County – Murang’a County on 25th October, 2025.

He was a beloved son of the late Isaack Kihara Mbara and late Joyce Wanja Kihara.

He was a devoted husband of Consolata Njoki Nduati and father of Antony Isaack Kihara Nduati and Caroline Wanja Nduati.

He was brother of Margeret Wanjiku Ndung’u of Ndakaini, Freshia Watiri Gichuki of Geitwa, Ann Nyumbura Kihara of Gituru, Grace Wahu Karanja of Kiganjo. Father-in-law of Ruth Wanjiru Kihara.

Grandfather of Amara Jessy Njoki Kihara.

Brother In-law of John Karanja and the late Ndung’u & Gichuki.

David Kihara was an employee of The National Treasury – Internal Auditor General Department.

Family and friends are meeting at his home Ngoingwa (Thika), Gituru (Kandara) and Sijas Centre in Ngoingwa.

Burial will be on Saturday 1/11/2025 at his rural home in Gituru village, Gituru Sub-Location, Gituru Location, Kandara Sub-County – Murang’a County. The cortege leaves Montezuma Mortuary, Kabati at 8.00am on Saturday 1/11/2025.

it is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing-on of Mrs..Florence Cherotich Lelgo which occurred on 24th October 2025.At the time of her demise, she was an employee of Nakuru County based at Rajuera dispensary Rongai Sub-county.

Daughter of the late Joshua Lelgo and Lina Lelgo of Kiburet Ainamoi Kericho county.

She was wife of Mr.VVilson Cherop (ADC Nairobi). Loving mother of Luke Kipchui  (Tenwek Boys), Caleb Kiprotich (Jawabu Schools), Enock Toroitich (Jawabu schools).

Loving sister of Cosmas Rono(Bomet County Government), Emily Sigei (Texas USA), the late Monica Chepngeno, Caroline Rono( Barsaiyan JSS), the late Oscar Kipkoech, Gideon Kipkorir and Kenneth Rono.

She was beloved in-law, aunt, cousin and dear friend to many.

Friends and family are meeting daily at her home at Morop Kamp Moto Rongai Sub-county from 4:00pm.

The cortege will leave Valley Funeral Home on Saturday 1st November, 2025 at 8.00 AM. Funeral service will be held at her home Morop on the same day starting at 0700 AM.

She is survived by her husband Eng. David Kaviti.

Daughter of the late Teresia Muuwe and the late Sumaili Nthusa and stepdaughter of Wayua and Kanini Sumaili. Sister of Esther & Alfred David Sumaili (OAG), Damaris & Isaac Sumaili, Rose & Julius Sumaili, Pascalia & Francis Mumodudith Mukei, Mutindi & Morris Munguti, Ruth & Joseph Kioko, Pamela & Alfred Mutua, Faith Mwikali, Alex Sumaili (Kahawa Barracks), Hellen Kalee, and Amos Kitonyo.

Sister of Joseph Gachau and the late Gideon Gathu, the late Ruth Waithiegeni, the late Kanyoro Mugambi, the late Deborah Wambere, the late Betha Wanjiku, the late Samuel Mutahi, and the late John Munyi.

She was a grandmother of Muigwa, Ndiritu, Kevin Muigwa,Vslangui, Moses Muigwa and Wangari. Great grandmother to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home Islands-Farm plot no.26, Giathieri Village, Kimahuri starting from 4.00 p.m for prayers and burial preparations.

The cortege will leave Jamii Nursing Home Karatina on Tuesday 4/11/2025 at 8.00 a.m, thereafter, funeral service at her home in Kimahuri starting at 10.00 a.m.
