Sister of Joyce Nd lulu, the late Andrew Mumo, Silas Musyoka and Nyamai.

Mother-in-law of Alfred Nthiwa, Samuel Kigondu, Catherine Wausi and Margaret Ndunge.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Machakos on Wednesday 26th November for burial in Mitaboni.

She was the beloved grandmother of Martina, Eunice, Diana, Kelvin, Chelsey and Johnell.

She was a loving sister of Grace, Christopher, Ben, Margaret, Barack, Yunia, Mary and Martin (all late).

She was sister in law of Peris, Rosemary, Leonard and (Alice, John, Nicholas, Benson, Benterdane all late). She was a loving auntie, cousin and friend to many.

Meetings are taking place at the family home in Nairobi at Kariba Estate, South B.

There will be a fundraiser on Tuesday 25th November 2025 at All Saints Cathedral starting from 5.00pm to assist the family offset huge hospital bill and funeral expenses.

The cortege leaves Chiromo Funeral Palour at 12.00noon on Thursday 27th November 2025. A memorial service will be held at ACK St Veronica Church off Aoko Road South B starting at 2.00pm.

The burial will take place at her home on Saturday 29th November 2025 at 10.00am in Gem Kaudha, Siaya County.

A loving husband of Judith Taaka Ochieno (NEMA) and Yolanda Nekesa (Porticus Africa), a devoted father of Rhodney Kakai.,Yvonne Nekesa, Joan Nekesa, Jackson Murunga, Jemmy Sitanda, and Janiya Sitanda. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and son-in-law, leaving behind a wide circle of family and friends who loved and admired him.

Eric is survived by his siblings Gilbert, George (NDMA), Sammy (National Treasury), David (Djibouti). Martin (NGCO), Evans (Djibouti), Maureen (PBORA), and Brendah (KICC).

He was a son-in-law of Jackson Ochieno, Elizabeth Nekesa, and Angelina Ochieno of Mundika; and to Joan Namachanja and Gellas Waswa of Cherang’ani.

Eric was a beloved uncle of Elvis, Marion, Noel, Felix, Naomi, Cindy, Dylan, Samantha, Ariana, Skyfer, Caren, Mitchell, Joe ,Victoria, Raymond, Jesse, Irian, Ashley, Liam, Reagan, Ethan, Nyla, Larry and Lani.

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Joy Wangeci Mathenya, who lost her life in a tragic road accident along the Eastern Bypass on Monday, 17th November 2025. A bright student at the University of Nairobi, Joy carried dreams that stretched far beyond her years and dreams she pursued with quiet determination and a heart full of hope.

Wangeci was the beloved daughter of Mr. Cyrus King’ori Mathenya (Principal Utawala Academy) and Mrs. Emily Wambui King’ori (Athi Primary School); a devoted sister of Wilson King’ori Mathenya; she was a step sister of Avery Wilson King’ori Mathenya and Zyrie Joy Wangechi Mathenya, and a gentle, adoring aunt of Shamilla Wambui King’ori.

She was a cherished cousin of Kelvin Kanyuira, Wilson Kingori, Muringe Karanja, Christine Karanja, Dorine Karanja, Evelyn Waruguru, June Nyambura, Esperance Khalisa, Gerald Mahinge, and Max Gitahi, among many others.

She was also a treasured niece and a loyal friend whose presence was a quiet comfort to all who knew her. Wangeci’s personality was her greatest gift. She was gentle yet strong, thoughtful yet joyful, a young woman who carried a rare softness in her heart.
