Richie Munyao

On behalf of the Board and Management of the National Transport and Safety Authority, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved Board Member, Richie Munyao. Richie served with distinction on the NTSA Board of Directors from 2023 until his passing.

Richie’s service to the Nation
Throughout his tenure, he brought together exceptional intellect and a strong moral compass, contributing significantly to both the Road Safety and Audit Committees. NTSA has lost its youngest Board Member, and the road safety community a remarkable emerging leader. His calm authority, sharp insight, and unwavering standards helped guide the Board through key reforms. Richie’s legacy lives on in every life saved because he cared deeply and consistently championed safer roads for all.

Cherished brother of Phil Chege Munyao – lnnovo and Natasha Ngina Munyao (Canada). Beloved grandson of the late Mweka Munyao and Susan Ngina Munyao of Mitaboni and the late Philip Chege and Esther Gathoni Chege. Adored nephew, cousin, colleague, and friend to many.

Family and friends will gather for prayers and funeral arrangements at Karura Community Chapel – off Limuru Road, on Tuesday 25th November, 2025, from 6.00pm.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 27th November, at 2.00pm at the Karura Community Chapel, off Limuru Road.

The cortege will leave the Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 28th November, at 6.30 am, followed thereafter by the final burial rites at the family home in Nanyuki.

Peter Sagini Ingutia

(1953 – 2025)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on of Retired Mwalimu Peter Sagini Ingutia on 15th November, 2025.

He was son of the late Retired Chief Inspector of police Evanson Ingutia Indongole and the Late Roselida Khayeshe.
Brother of the late Grace Khatsenzia, Salome Osundwa, Ayub Ingutia and the late Swin Ingutia.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary Nechesa and Sarah Kulova (Sirigoi Primary School). Father of Celestine-Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), Beatrice-Mahatma Ghandhi International Schools (The Middle East), Jackline, Wakili Judith-Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), Leonard, Lucy-Mahatma Ghandhi International Schools (The Middle East), Engineer Christine-Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited (KPLC), Solomon, Verah-County Government of Busia, Wakili Margaret-M.A Ingutia & Company Advocates, the late Andrew, Cicilia-ABSA Bank Kenya PLC, Shiriene, Faith and George.

Elias Mwakamba Mjomba (EBS, HSC)

Sunrise: 10th August 1951 — Sunset: 19th November 2025

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Mr. Elias Mwakamba Mjomba (EBS, HSC) on 19th November 2025.

Elias was the cherished son of the late Mr. Naftal Mjomba Mafusa and the late Mrs. Evelyn Wabosha. He was son-in-law of the late Mr. Meshack Mng’onda and the late Mrs, Janet Warighe.

He was brother of Geoffrey Mafusa (late), Agnes Nguku, Clemente Mghoi (late), Shadrack Maighacho and Anderson Mwavula (late).

A devoted family man. Elias was a loving husband of Rachael Katty Mwakamba Mjomba, and proud father of Diana Wabosha, Janet Warighe, Elizabeth Samba, Rose Bibi, Agnes Nguku, and Grayson Joshua. He was a doting grandfather of Eli Mwakamba Mjomba, Kieran Valerian Mwabili, Katty Kambua Kaluku, Wabosha Kavata Kaluku, Kacie Warighe Mjomba, and Jude Paul Mwakamba Otieno.

He was a valued in-law of Mrs. Enivah Mafusa, Mr. Cornelius Wangemi Kishika (late), Mrs. Prisca Maighacho (late), and Mrs.Teckla Mwavula.

Elias was a highly respected public servant who dedicated his life to the service of our nation. He retired as Director, Operations Division at the National Security and Intelligence Service (NSIS), where his leadership, integrity, and commitment earned him national honors such as Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) and Head of State Commendation (HSC). He was also among the founder members of National Association of Retired Police Officers Kenya (NARPOK) – Taita Taveta Chapter. He also served as the former Chairman of TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Ltd, where he continued to invest his wisdom and experience in strengthening community institutions. Elias lived a life marked by service, humility, courage, and unwavering love for his family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Fellowship meetings are being held daily from 5:00 p.m. at his residence in Transview Estate, Athi River.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 26th November 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at ACK St Paul’s Church, Athi River.

The cortege will depart from Montezuma Monalisa Machakos on Friday 28th November 2025, for his home in Werugha Location, Wundanyi Sub County, Tait Taveta County. The burial ceremony will take place the following day, Saturday, 29tfi November 2025, at his family home in Werugha

Lawrence Ngigi Mbugua

5th January 1960 – 19th November 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Lawrence Ngigi Mbugua, loving husband of Alice Ngigi.

He was a devoted father of Irene & James and David, and a doting grandfather of Msia, Adi and Shani.

He was son of the late Bernard and Josephine Mbugua Tumbo. Lawrence was brother of Steve & Flora Tumbo, David & Wambui Kairu, Rachel Wanjiru & Gathuru, Hannah Wambui,Virginia Wanjiku, Peter & Leah Ndeere, Charles & Brenda Wairagi.

He was brother-in-law of Jane & Mugweru, Muthoni, Gachuhi & Esther, Mwangi & Charity, the late Kigondu & Faith, Bilha & Jackson, and Eva.

He was uncle of Kevin, John, Kairu, Eva, Sam, Njeri Raisa, Njeri Ndeere & Wanjugu, Natasha & Sean, the Mugweru’s, Diana, Gachuhi’s, Mwangi’s, Kigondu’s, Ndirangu’s and Simmo.

He was cousin of Mbari ya Tumbo of Ngecha and Karichu’s of Kabuku.

Meetings will be held on Monday & Wednesday at CITAM Valley Road from 5:30 p.m. and on Tuesday at the family home in Ranger’s Court, South C. Daily meetings are also ongoing at the ancestral home in Komothai.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on Friday, 28th November 2025 for a funeral service at CITAM Valley Road at 10am followed by interment at Lang’ata Cemetery.

Samuel Solomon Oketch

Sunrise: 7/12/1973 – Sunset: 17/11/2025 

It is with great regret to announce the demise of Mr. Samuel Solomon Oketch an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya Working as a Principal Legal Officer at the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs on 17th November, 2025.

He was a beloved husband of Evelyn Onunga, Assistant Director at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). He was a devoted father of Israel Amos Oketch of Viraj International Academy and Laura Akinyi.

He was the son of the late Amos Acklays Akala and the late Merecia Amos

He was a cherished brother of Dr. Akida, Roy, the late Lilian, the late Dinah, Pauline, Abigail, Julia, Jennifer-Jeremiah, Stephen and Felix.

A son in-law of the late Senior Chief James and Margret Onunga. He was an uncle, cousin and friend to many.

There will be a fundraiser on Tuesday 25th ,November, 2025 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi at 5pm and a requiem service on ‘Thursday 27th November, 2025 at ACK St. John Church Pumwani at 2pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on 28/11/2025. The burial will be held on Saturday 29th November, 2025 at Gem Akala village, South Gem Location, at the Kisumu-Siaya border, Siaya county.

Mr. Laban Mwangi Kiiru

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Laban Mwangi Kiiru, which occurred on 19th November 2025 at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, after a long stay in the hospital which he bravely fought.

Born in 1947, Mr. Kiiru was son of the late Pharis Kiiru and the late Marion Wanjiku.

He was the loving husband of the late Maria Wanjiku Mwangi. He was a devoted father of Joseph Kung’u, Lucy Wangari, John Kiiru, Paul Muchina, Grace Nyambura, Serah Wambui (Director, Kanini Haraka), Peter Ngujiri, Teresa Wangui, David Kanyi, and Tabitha Njeri (Kanini Haraka).

He was father-in-law of James Ndung’u (Chairman, Kanini Haraka), Amos Njane, David Muchori, Pauline Waiyego, Monica Wangui, Susan Njoki, Ruth Njeri, and Tabitha Wanjeri.

Brother of Phillip Muchina, Francis Kanyi, the late Isaiah Ng’ang’a, Gideon Kimemia, and Mary Wambui.

He was a cherished grandfather of Wanjiku, Macharia, Mwangi, Rachael, Salome, Maria, Miriam, Phylis, Chegejoy, Nyambura, among others; and a beloved great-grandfather of Steve, Ng’ang’a, Ndung’u, Njoki, Muchina, Kung’u, among others.

Friends and family are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home in Kwa Haraka, Kinangop.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 25th November 2025 at 10:00 AM, at his home in Kwa Haraka, Kinangop, where he will also be laid to rest.

Joseph Mukuru Gitutu

It is with God’s will and acceptance that we announce the sudden demise of Joseph Mukuru Gitutu.

He was the son of Esther Wambui and the late John Gitutu.

Husband of Veronica Wacuka. Father of Boniface Gitutu, Erick Riri, Esther Wambui, StiveOstien Maina, Jane Nyaguthii.

He was a brother of the late Mwangi, Maim, Gathiru, Kabuga, Gichang’iru, Njeri, Wanjiku, Wangechi, Watetu, Wahome, Gikama. He was uncle, grandfather and friend of many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his home in Githurai 45 behind Kimbo Primary School.

The cortege will leave KU Funeral Home on Friday 28th November 2025 at 6:30AM for the burial service and interment at Gatarakwa village Ngobit ward Laikipia East Subcounty Laikipia County.

It is with great sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Jane Mbeke Wambua which occurred on Tuesday 18th November.

Beloved daughter of the late Samuel Muthoka Mumo and the late Beatrice Syomanthi Muthoka.

Wife of Mr.Anthony Muia Wambua. Mother of Henry Mutua, Mary Nthiwa, George Ngati, the late Sammy Muia, late Betty Kanini Kigondu, Daniel Wambua and Andrew Muisyo.

Sister of Joyce Nd lulu, the late Andrew Mumo, Silas Musyoka and Nyamai.

Mother-in-law of Alfred Nthiwa, Samuel Kigondu, Catherine Wausi and Margaret Ndunge.

Daughter in law of the late Zebedee Gombe and the late Pesica Anyore of Gem Kaudha, Siaya County.

She was a loving mother of Rose, George, Margaret, Kate, Charity, Zipporah, Jacqueline and Julius (Nyalwal).

She was the beloved grandmother of Martina, Eunice, Diana, Kelvin, Chelsey and Johnell.

She was a loving sister of Grace, Christopher, Ben, Margaret, Barack, Yunia, Mary and Martin (all late).

She was sister in law of Peris, Rosemary, Leonard and (Alice, John, Nicholas, Benson, Benterdane all late). She was a loving auntie, cousin and friend to many.
