She was grandmother of Joshua, Muthoni, Warnbui, Becky, Hiram, Margaret, Raphael, Nancy, Maureen, Barbra and Lisa, and was the Great Grandmother of Scarlett, Seth, Kathorni, Deborah Christian and Gianna.

The cortege will leave the Lee Funeral Home on Thursday 8th January 2026 at 9.00am. The funeral service will be held at the A.C.K St. Peter’s Church Ndunyu Parish Wangige, from 11.00am, followed by the burial at their Wangige home.

 

We celebrate the beautiful life of Mzee Winston Kimani Kang’ethe, Member, Board of Trustees, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), who passed away on Saturday 3rd January 2026.

He was the son of the late Kang’ethe Njonjo and late Esther Wambui.

He was the loving husband of the late Margaret Waithira Kimani and a devoted father of Anne Wambui; the late Rose Mugure; Jane Chege (Del Monte); Susan Anampiu; and Moses Kang’ethe (USA). He was a treasured father-in-law of Samuel Muigai of Juja Thriller, Lay Canon David Chege (DC); Eric Anampiu, and Kathy Kimani (USA).

A loving brother of the late Stephen Charles Njonjo & Lilian Petrini (Sweden); Lucy Njeri (Sweden);Williamson Kamande & Lydia Waniiru; the late Peter Njonjo & Veronica Njonjo; Jane Ruguru & Winston Mutahi; Rose Wambui Mureu & late James Mureu; Isaac Muturi & Rose Nyamundu; and John Kimani & Ann Wangari.

He was grandfather of Walter Karanja, Bilha Wakanyi, Mzee Winston Anita Wanjiru, Kevin Anampiu, Carl Kimani, Edi-Baraka Njuguna, Agnes Anampiu, Ryan Kimani, Kimani Ka.nethe Joanna Kimani, and Cristabel Waithera; and a great-grandfather of Nadley Mugure,Tashley Wachu, Dashley Muigai, Sashley Wakanyi, Elsie Wangui, Kelsie Mugure,Willis Kariungi, and Chelsie Wanjiku. He was a beloved cousin, uncle, and friend to many.

She was a cherished daughter of Sosnes Imbadu and the late Naomy Imbadu, a devoted wife of the late Philemon Lubang’a, and a loving mother of Sandra Amagove (Lumakanda Friends Church), Brian Ojamaa (Parliamentary Service), Cynthia Mugeha (Bishop Njenga Girls), Ian Lubang’a (Mt Kenya University), and the late Hawuorth Kasaya and Harrieth Alice M’mbone.

She was a caring mother-in-law of Prudence Katila and a proud grandmother of Angel Rejoice, Jayson Omuse, Denzel Ojamaa, and Denroy Ojamaa, whom she loved dearly.

She is fondly remembered by her siblings Jayne Cindy Songole, James Imbadu, Kate Cephas, and Erick Imbadu, and was preceded in death by Eliud, Douglas, Edith, Javan, and Nickson.

She was also a beloved sister-in-law of late Branise, Peter Ano, Rahab Kabeyi, Retired Mwalimu Frank Kadasira, late Berita, Eng. Elam Songole, Restitutor Aduvaga, Christine Shamala, Rev. Tom Cephas and Ruth Wangare. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was a beloved son of Sylvester Ganda Nyaumba (Retired Head Teacher, Wang’chieng’ Primary School) and the late Frankline Awino Ganda.

He was a brother to Margaret Achieng’ Ganda, Casillas Odhimbo Ganda, Marymercy Akinyi Ganda, Mwalimu Stephen Otieno Ochieng’ of St Catherine lranda Secondary School, Kisii County, the late Odhiambo Ganda, Elizabeth Ganda,Winnie Ganda, Margaret Adhiambo Ganda, Sharon Ganda, Doreen Ganda and Kevin Ganda.

He was a nephew to Eng. Jackim Ayimba Ochieng’ formerly of Kenya Airways, Joseph Ayimba Ochieng’ formerly of NIS, Romanus Okello Ochieng’ (Deputy Principal, St. Joseph’s Bumutiru), Alfred Odhiambo Ochieng’ (Deputy Principal, Ringa Boys High School), Julius Oloo (Retired Teacher), William Oloo (Retired Head Teacher), George Oloo, and Charles Weya.

His aunts were Conslata Anyango, Christine Awuor, Grace Anyango, Sylviah Auma,Ananstacia Obare, Millicent Ayimba, Millicent Odhiambo, and Ann Okello.

He was a cousin to Tom Odhiambo Otieno, Bernard Odera, Joseph Ochieng Ayimba’, Cynthia Ayimba, Joseph Odhiambo, Christopher Emmanuel Odhiambo, Gabriel Okello, Josephine Okello, Esther Okello, Romanus Okello Jnr, and Phibi Okello.

Joseph was the beloved husband to Salome Ochieng’. He hailed from Kisii County, Kisii Central Sub-County, Nyanchwa Estate. He was a loving father of Austine Ochieng’, Dorcah Ochieng’ and Happy Ochieng’.

The burial plans are underway as family arrangements are taking place daily at the family’s home at Komenya near Nyaluang’a Primary School from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A special and final fundraiser will be held on 07/01/2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The body of the late will leave Siaya County Referral Hospital on 09/01/2026 at 11:00 a.m. with an overnight vigil at their home in Komenya Kalaka Village. The burial will take place on 10/01/2026 at his ancestral home, Komenya Kalaka Village, Sub-location, Boro Location, Siaya County.

Her uncles are Elly Mwaya Onditi, the late Opon Onditi, among others. She is a sister-in-law, niece, cousin, and an aunt to many.
