It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Sr. Barbara (Mary Eleanor) Dooley RSM, a devoted Sister of Mercy, which occurred on the 24th of December 2025 in Whitby, United Kingdom.

She will be deeply missed by her sister, Pauline McStravick, her entire family, Our Lady of Mercy Institute United Kingdom, and by the Mukuru Community at large.

A Holy Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, at 1100hrs UK Time, at St. Hilda’s Catholic Church,Whitby (Y021 IQT), in the UK. In Nairobi, a Memorial mass will be held on Friday 9th January 2026 at 2.00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, South B.

She faithfully served the Mukuru Community in Nairobi, Kenya through her work at the Social Office where she was based at St. Catherine’s Primary School, which is under the Sisters of Mercy Mukuru Promotion Centre (MPC). Her Ministry was marked by humility, kindness, and a deep sense of Mercy, leaving a lasting impact.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Leah Wairimu Gachomo, which occurred on 29th December 2025.
She was wife of the late Mwalimu Joseph Gachorrio of Ngurweini, Gaichanjiru Location, Murang’a County. She was the mother of Mike and Mary of USA, the late Cyrus and Elizabeth, Renard and Rosemary of Kosinje distributors. Lewis and Olivia of USA, Charles and Joan, Gerald and Eunice of USA, Regina, Lydia George, the late Freshia Muthoni and David Kirnani.

She was the daughter of the late Kahoro Mau and Njeri Kahoro. She was sister of Theresia Nyambura, the late Wambui Muchoki, the late Charles Mburu.

She was grandmother of Wairimu, Gachomo, Nyokabi, Wanja, Waithira, Kevin, Eston, Faith, Alexis, Nana, Isabel, Kariuki, Ngatha, Naomi, Eliel, Charles, Caleb, Njeri, Josiah among others.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 8.00arn, followed by Mass and burial at her Ngurweini home.

She was dear wife of Peter Ngimwa of Rironi, Limuru.

Daughter of the late Elder Jesse Kamutu and Beatrice Wathiu and step daughter of Beth Wanjiru.

Mother of Andrew Kinyanjui (Kamukunji), Pauline Ngimwa (PASGR), Beatrice Ngimwa Mburu (NCCG) and Mburu Gatimu (T), Jesse Ngimwa (Kabete Vet Lab), George Murengi and Nyakio Murengi and Simon Ngimwa (HFC Bank) and Wairimu Ndungu.

Sister of the late Mary Nyambura, Jacinta Njeri,TeresiaVVambui, Peter Ndungu. Step sister of the late Gichuhi Kamutu, Nyambura Irungu Peter Ndungu, the late Charles Kahunyo, Greshon Nguo and Lucy Kamutu.

Daughter-in law of the late Andrew Kinyanjui and Mary Gachaki. A cherished grandmother to many.

Family and friends are meeting at her home in Rironi, daily from 4:00 pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Uphome Funeral Home on 8th January 2026 at 9:00 am, proceeding to PCEA Mother Church Rironi for funeral service and burial thereafter at their family farm Kambembeini Rironi.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Salina Chemuge Kosgei who went to be with the Lord on 3rd January, 2026. Salina was a resident of Mosoriot Village, Mateget Sub-location, Mutwot Location, Nandi County.

She was the loving wife of the late John Kipkemboi Kaplelach arap Koskei (Kapkirorio).

Daughter of the late Kapkoin Kipsererei and the Late Kogo Tapkeleley Kapseremet.

Sister of the Late Cheptalam Lelei (Bot Singoei), the late Kipchumba Kiboit, the late Mary Cheptepkeny, the late Tccla Chemaiyo and the late Samuel Kibiwot Samoei.

Salina was beloved mother of Elijah Koskei, Reuben Kemboi (Tebeson), Janeth Koskei (Mosoriot), Wesley Kibet Mogotei (Nairobi), the late Silah Kirui, Geoffrey Tenai (Nairobi) and Jones Kirorio (Kenya Police Service). She was blessed with daughters-in-law, 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Salina was a pillar of strength in the community, a devoted and faithful member of the Africa Inland Church (AIC) and a matriarch of the KapMogotei family. She participated in the Widows’ Prayer Group, church development activities, Sunday School programs and contributed to the development of Mosoriot Secondary and Primary Schools.

Friends and family are meeting daily at the family farm in Mosoriot.

The burial will be on Friday 9th January 2026.

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Mama Salty Cheptoo of Eldoret on Monday, 29th December 2015„after a long illness bravely borne.

She was the devoted wife of Luka Cheptoo, daughter of the Late Mzee Cheserem and Mama Maria Soti of Kaptarakwa, and a loving mother of Caroline (KCB), Nixon, George (Kligus),Sophie (USA), Edwin (Klique), and Tom ( USA). Co wife of Rhoda Cheptoo.

She was a sister of Jane, Susanna, Netty, Nancy and the late Hon. KNK Biwort and the late Edward Biwott.

There will be a fundraising meeting at the family have Chopkanga on the Wednesday 7th January 2026 starting 3 00pm. (Paybill Number: 8030290 Account Ntintbsr: Name of the sender).

The cortege leaves Eldora Hospital Mortuary on Friday. 9th January 2026, with burial on Saturday, 10th January 2026 at 9.00 a.m.

Prayers and planning meetings are ongoing daily at her Chepkanga home.

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Batiem Susana Targesui (Bot Tapkosagut) – our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother of Six Generations, which occurred on Sunday, 21st December 2025, at Boston, USA.

Batiem was a loving and devoted mother of the late Mrs_Agnes Rero Sol, Mr.Alfred Kiptanui Keter, Mrs, Ruth Soi, Mrs. Elizabeth Tuei, Mrs. Jane Cheruiyot, Mr. Richard Keter and Ms. Sarah Chepngeno Keter. She was-the mother-in-law of the late Rero Soi, Mary Keter, the late Joseph Soi, the late Simion Tuei, James Cheruiyot, Mary Keter (ZB) and Leah Keter. She was a cherished grandmother, a great-grandmother and a pillar of wisdom and strength to her family and the community.

She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, friends, and ail who knew her.

The body will arrive at the Changoi Road home on 12th January, 2026.The funeral service and the burial ceremony will take place at the same venue on 13th January, 2026 from 9.00 a.m.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely demise and promotion to glory of Fredrick Chege Karanja which occurred on 3rd December 2026 while undergoing treatment at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital-Mombasa.

Fredrick Chege Karanja was an employee of Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) in Quality Assurance Department, Mombasa Office.

He was a loving son and second born child of Mr. Charles E.N. Karanja and Mrs. Winfred Wangari Karanja. Chege was a kind and caring brother of Clement Mwangi Karanja, Yvonne Purity Wambui Karanja (KEBS), and Joseph Wanyoike Karanja (formerly of KEBS).

He was a respectful brother-in-love of Mercy Mumbi Nieri, and a doting hilarious uncle of Mantiki Winnie Wangari Mwangi, Falsafa Charlie Nyingt Mwangi, Alvis Munene Wanyoike and Jabal Eric Mugetha Mwangi. Chege was a darling nephew, cousin and a friend to many.

The family, relatives, and friends are meeting daily at their parents’ rural home for burial arrangements in Kirinyaga East Sub-County, Gichugu East Division, Njuki-ini North Location, Mbiri Sub-location in Mbiri Village from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

The burial will be held on Saturday the 10th January 2026 and his final resting place at the parents’ rural home in Mbiri Village-Kirinyaga.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Daniel Nguniiri Mbuthia of Munyaka, Nanyuki which occurred on 1st January 2026.

He was son of the late Stephen Mbuthia and the late Lucy Wathote and step-son of the late Virginia Wambui. He was a dear brother of the late Joseph Waruinge. Peninah Wanja, the late Andrew Karimi, Nicodemus Kamangu, Janet Wagaki, Esther Muiru and the late Ann Waithera. He was a step-brother of the late Mary Wanja, John Kwirika. Gichuhi Mbuthia, Daniel Ngunjiri, Beatrice Wanjiru and Gabriel Mugo.

Daniel was a loving husband of the late Agnes Gathoni He was a caring father of Lucy Nyokabi, Catherine Wanja, and Joseph and Angeline Mbuthia. He was grandfather of Letoya and Imali Kiragu, Daniel Ngecu. Kelvin Ngunjiri, and Joy Gathoni. He was a great-grandfather of Tajeu Kiragu.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers at his family home in Munyaka, Nanyuki.

Requiem Mass will be held at the following venues 1. Nanyuki:Tuesday, 61anuary 2026 at 11.00am at the family home 2. Nairobi: Thursday, 13th January 2026 at 5.30pm at the Ground Floor Allamano Centre, Consolata Shrine, Westlands

The funeral service and burial will be held at his family home in Munyaka, Nanyuki on Tuesday 13th January 2026 from 11.00am.

He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness and generosity.

Mwalimu Kamiti was the son of the late Jackson Kamau and the late Hazel to Nduta.

He was the husband of Nancy VVanjiku Kamiti. He was the father of Monica Kirori, Caroline Nduta, Felix Kamau, Aloyse Bachia, Susan Wambui and Catherine Nyawira.

Brother of Terry Njeri Thige, the late Magdaline Wambui, jecinta. Kabui, Gathiru Kamau (Differ). Step-brother of Wambui Mbugua, Njeri Kirori, Wairimu Ngugi and the late Stephen Gathiru. Father-in-law of Kirori Ngaruiya, Bernadette Kamati, Catherine Bachra, Martin Kart. and Jason Grandfather to 13 grandchildren and great grandfather to four.

Friends and relatives are meeting at his home in Kirai -Turira Village (Mang’u) daily from 4.00 m.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home Th ka Road (Kabati) at 8:00am on Friday, 9th January 2026 Mass will be held on the same day at St John The Baptist Catholic Church, Mang’ at 10.00am. He will later be laid to rest at his home in at Kirai-Turiru Village(Mang’ u).

She was the daughter of the late Murugu Githinji and the late Wangechi Gathege of Kairo, Murang’a County. She was a sister of the late Herman Githinji Murugu, the late Gathege Murugu, Jane Wanjiku Mahugu, the late Esther Mumbi Mbaria, juliaWanjiru Ngokonyo,the lateWanjeri Karitu, and the late Rahab Wanja Kinyanjui.

Muthoni was wife of the late DJ Githinji Kiumbura. She was the loving mother of Lucy Wairimu, Kiumbura Githinji (Australia), Justice Stephen Githinji, Peter Nderitu (New Jersey, USA), Herman Githinji (Australia), Hon. Anne Wangechi Githinji ( 1st Speaker, Kirinyaga County), Jane Njeri (Agricultural Finance Corporation), Mungwana Githinji, the late Maria Wanjiru, Jackson Gathege, Susan Wangui Githinji (Kirinyaga County Assembly), Mary Wanjiru, John Karuga, Joyce Waguthi, Kennedy Kimunu, and Esther Mumbi.

She was a cherished mother-in-law and aunt of many, and leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Prayers and meetings will be held at her Home, Sagana Kirinyaga, Wednesday 7th and on the 8th January, 2026 in the afternoon.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home (KABATI) on Saturday, 10th January 2026 at 6.30am. The Funeral will be at her home, Sagana (Kirinyaga County) near Upper Sagana Primary School, starting from 10.00am.

May the Lord rest her soul in eternal peace.
