With acceptance of God’s win, we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved patriarch and hero. Walters Wandera Ogok, a former lecturer of the University of Nairobi, Kikuyu Campus and Resident Lecturer at Mombasa and Kakamega Extra-Mural Studies Centres.

He was son of the late Hezekiah Ogolla Oniang. and Norah Makhondo Ogolla, and son-in-law of the late Isaiah Abwao and the late Mildred lnema.

He was the husband of the late Metabbel Epwono Ogolla and Pascalina Omedo. Father of the late Nicholas Wandera, Catherine Wandera – Rapando, Joseph Success Wandera. Norah Wandera, and the late Merab Vivian Wandera.

He was a brother of the late Lay Canon Teresa Akumu Olayo, Nerea Wanga Owiti, the late Stanley Ouma Ogolla and Peterkins James Ogolla; and nephew of the late Benson Haduli. late Snr. Chief Wanga Mahanga Oniang’i HSC, late Joseph Munyobi, late Jacktone Oduku, late Phelesia Odondo. Leunida Muruka, late Rosemary Obako Sibeyo, Magdalina Nerima, Maria Oloro, Eriabi Madara and Magdalina Anyango.

He a brother-in-law of Grace Ogolla, Pamela Ogolla, the late Mzee Owiti, the late Wellington Olayo, Job Munala, Martin Musurnba, Florence Anindo, among others.

He was cousin of the Hadulis, Wangas, Munyobis, Odukus, Makhulos, Bulumas, Sibeyos, Anyango’s and uncle of the Olayos, Owitis, Stanley Ogollas, Peterkins Ogollas, Steve Ogalles, Achillas, Munalas, Abwaos, Tiemas, Musumbas, among others.

He was Father in-law of Mike Rapando, Naomi Ogolla and Anne Wandera.

He was grandfather of Marvin, Sheilah, Victor, Arsene, Walters Ogolla jnr, Nicholas Wandera, Ogolla jnr, Achieng, the late Zawadi, Taryn, Joson, Malcom, Whitney, Serena and Stanley. Great grandfather of Adriel Baraka.

The funeral service will be held at ACK St. Stephen’s Church, Port Victoria on Thursday 22nd January 2026 from 2.30 p.m. He will be laid to rest on Friday, 23rd January 2026 at his home in Port Victoria, Bunyala Sub-County, Busia County.

To know Peter Wachira Gichuhi was to know quiet wisdom, strength in difficult moments, and deep love. He walked life with humility and grace, leaving footprints that will guide us long after his passing.

We the family of Wachira, are deeply saddened to announce his blessed death which occurred on 18 January 2026. Peter, fondly known as ‘Daktari’ to many, was formerly of Nairobi City Council and Outering Medical Centre, Buruburu.

He was the son of the late Francis Gichuhi Muraya and the late Pens Mwihaki Gichuhi and son-in-law of the late John Wamahiu and the late Lucy Muthoni.

He was a dear husband of Esther Nyambura Gichuhi (formerly of The Nairobi Hospital), beloved father of Bridget Wachira, Eric Wachira and Mwihaki Wachira. A doting grandfather of Adrian, Esther, Cooper, Lenah, Khloe, Kylie, Kyle, Sabina, Muthoni and Maturi. Father-in-law of Judy Mutindi.

Brother of the late Felix Nderitu, the late Geoffrey Ngare, the late Jane Wasrtmu Mwangi, the late Purity Wanijku Benjamin, Mary Mumbi Wiese and Rose Wambui Muriuki.

She was the loving wife of Mr. Jonathan Mutuku Muthiani, mother of Jacqueline Mbithe, Janet Katungwa, Benson Kilelo, and Ronald Mutiso and a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren.

Mary was a retired teacher who faithfully served at Kyamuoso Primary School and Kyakathungu Primary School under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). After retirement, she was the proprietor of Arise to Excel Academy. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of AIC ltaa,AIC Mariru Park, and the Women’s Guild (Ushirika).

The memorial service will be held at AlC Kasarani, Nairobi, on Thursday, 22nd January 2026, starting at 2:00 pm. The burial will take place on Friday, 23rd January 2026, at her rural home in ltaa Village, Ndolo Location, Ilima Division, Kilungu Sub-County, Makueni County.
