It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mama Catherine Nyaboke Borura, wife to the late Borura. Akara of Nyaronde South Village, Matutu Location. Borabu Sub-County, Nyamira County.

She was daughter of the late Ogeto Sitemba and Floca Nyamogori. She was step-daughter of Moyare.

She was a loving mother of the late Samson Nyambati Akara (who passed away on I 8/12/2025). Jepson Ogeto, Stella Okernwa, the late John Onyonka, the late George Morang’a, the late Esther Moraa, Vincent Kaunda and Winfrida Saringi.

She was co-wife of the late Mong’ina, the late Marinda, Moraa and the late Milka.

She was mother-in-law of Joan, Joseph Okemwa, Ruth, Salome, Lilian. the late Tom Ogeto, Carol, Nyabeta, Rose among others.

She was sister of Nyareso, the late Kemuma, the late Sr. Mogiti, the late Onkoba, the late Ombongi, Rosa, Ogeto, Ruth among others.

She was aunty of Kabas, Onkobas, Ombongis. Nyandikas, Ogetos among others.

Niece of the late Maranga, the late Mageto among others.

The bodies of the late Mama Catherine Nyaboke and her late first-born son, Arch. Samson Nyambati Akara, will leave Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) on Thursday, 8/1/2026. Burial will take place on Friday 9/1/2026 at her Nyaronde South Village home, Nyamira County.

She was the loving wife of Steve Chege Kiarie and a mother of Alexander Kiarie, Michael Kariuki, Anthony Ngigi and mother-in-law of Valentine Njeri, Margaret Kariuki and Vanessa Wangui.

She was a daughter in-law of the late Hiram Kiarie and Beth Njeri (Nyagaki).

She was caring sister of Esther Kariuki, the late John Gachanga Kariuki, Benson Kariuki, Mary Watare Kariuki and Johnson Gichanga Kariuki and a wonderful grandmother of Tyron Chege, Antwaan Chege, Euna Wangui and an auntie to many.

Philip was the beloved husband of the late Grace Konyo Mwangi and they were blessed with twelve (12) children; the late Christine Njeri,Annmary Muthoni, Pitty Waithera, Sarah Mumbi, Simon Nduati, Jeddidah Nyambura, the late Ian Kibanya, Sally Wanjiku MaLivo, the late Naomi Waiyego, Moses Mbatia, the late Zipporah Nyaguthie, and Benjamin Mwangi. Twenty one (21) grandchildrenArny Grace, the late Winnie, Philip, Angela, Stacy, Philip (PK), Stephen Martin, Joy, Stephany, Nicole, Stanley, Mbatia, Grace, David, Shat line, Hadassah, Letisha, Mariah, John, and Laura.Arid three (3) great-grandchildren; Gloria, Nyambura, and Chloe.

Born in August 1938, he was the firstborn son of the late Norman Nduati and the late Damaris Njeri, and elder brother of the late Beth Waithera, the late Hezron Mbatia, the late Elisha Irungu Nduati, the late Beatrice Nyambura and the late Zakayo Ngirnei.

Philip was a trained Sales and Marketing professional, having worked with East Africa Industries (now Unilever), Pelican, Phillmans Engineering and Mather & Platt (Mather Platt Kenya), and was also a respected businessman. A committed Christian, his ministry began at PCEA Bahati, and he faithfully served as an elder at PCEA St. Andrews Church until his demise.

Prayers and fellowship are being held daily at PCEA St.Andrews Church from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at PCEA St.Andrews Church, Main Sanctuary on Wednesday, 7th January 2026, from 10:00 a.m. The cortege leaves KUTRRH Funeral Home on Friday, 9th January 2026, at 7:00 a.m. for a funeral service and burial at his home in Kangema, Kiamara (lyego) Village, Murang’a County.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely demise o Lieutenant Colonel Martin Kamau Mburu of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), from Kigumo Constituency, Muranga County.

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Daniel Kiilu Makau announces his promotion to glory. He rested on Wednesday, 24th December, after a sudden cardiac distress.

Daniel Kiilu was the loving husband of Rose Kamene Kiilu, the father of Kevin Makau and Martin Wambua, and a proud grandfather of Reuel, Jane, Micah and Lemuel. Father-in-law of Linda Mutuku and Pauline Mwende.

He was the son of the late Peter Makau Kaswii and the late Beatrice Kamene Makau, and son-in-law of Josiah Mull Wambua and Naomi Mutheu Wambua.

He was the brother of Seth Mutua, Simon Mutuku, Timothy Munyao, Mary- lkandi, Esther Mueni, the late Martha, Ruth Muema, Joyce Makau, the late Isaac Kaswii, Solomon Mutheke, Samuel Muthusi, Jacob Musyoka, and Catherine Mbithe.

He was the beloved husband of Hon Therresah Bosibori Nyangena of Milimani Law Courts and father of Beverly Kerubo Omondi of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Bradley Ochieng Omondi of the University of Nairobi.

He was the cherished son of the late Michael Obudho and the late Rispa Obudho.

He was loving brother of the late Hellen Obudho. David Ajwang Obudho, and Lorna Ogolla Obudho.

The National Biosafety Authority is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ms. Lucy Doyi Kihamba, which occurred on 26th December 2025 at Coptic Hospital. Until her demise, Ms. Kihamba served as the Deputy Director HR at the Authority.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Maurice Konya. Mother of Nixon and Brian Konya.

Daughter of the late -Mr. Javan Kihamba and Mrs. Joyce Kihamba. Sister of Musalia Kihamba, Fanis Kamau, Alex Abere, Saisi Stephen, Sally Otieno, and Ronnie Mwenesi.

She is survived by two grandchildren Jermaine and Jabali Mwenesi and was a cherished aunt of many.

Daughter-in-law of the late Adv. D.R.T. Konya and Mrs. Agnes Konya. Sister-in-law of Michael Konya, Thomas Konya, Geoffrey Konya, Pamela Konya-Odimmasi,Wambui Musalia, Peter Karigite, Esther Saisi, and George Otieno.

She was a dear cousin of the Mwenesi, Ovita, Onyino, lndire, Omido, Kaiga, Kidake, Kulumba, Musuya, Wekesa and Wanyama families.

Her body is laying at Montezuma Funeral Home and will depart on 8th January 2026 for her final journey at Sinyerere Location, Cherangani Constituency in Trans Nzoia County. She will be laid to rest on 10th January 2026.

A devoted wife of the late Moffat Onsongo and the late Abel Nambafu. A loving mother of Nina Moraa, Derrick and Moses. Grandmother of Nikita., Nick, Marjorie and Hakim. A treasured mother-in-law of the Bunyalis. Step-mother of Damaris, Stella, Hudson, Evans and Evelyne.

He was a loving father of Anne (KPLC), Robert, Hellen (USA), Hildah, Susan, Angela (CEC County Government of Kakamega), Thecla, and Philip; brother of the late Kimingichi, the late Wechifusi, the late Kwasinja, Tali, Kuloba and others; father- in-law of Fredrick Wambua (KRA) and Joshua Amboka (UAE); and a cherished grandfather of Gloria, Shukran, Keziah, Chelsea, Cyril, Chiram, Chavela, Jeremy, Mumbi, Rayanne, Mwangi, Arthur and Joy. The cortege will leave KU Referral Funeral Home (Northern Bypass) on Wednesday. 7th January 2026 at 7.00am for the funeral service at PCEA Gathehu Church grounds followed by interment at the family home in Gathehu, Karatina.

Michael Evanson Mbugua Ngugi

On behalf of the family of the late Peter Joram Ngugi and Penninah Ngugi, it is with deep sorrow we announce the demise of Michael Evanson Mbugua Ngugi.

He was the beloved father of Zanele Nyambugi Mbugua and Kwame Mbugua.

Brother of James Ngugi, Jennifer Ngugi, Susan Wakonyo Kuria, Stephen Wainaina, Martin Nyori, David Kamau, and Evanson Mbugua.

Brother-in-law of the late Perith Njoroge, Andrew Kuria, Njeri Wainaina, and Gatwiri Kirimi. Beloved cousin and friend of many.

Meetings continue daily the Ngugi family residence at Lavington, Nairobi.

There shall be a memorial service at ACK Emmanuel church Riruta on Tuesday 6th January 2026 at 11 am.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home off Mbagathi Way, Nairobi on on Wednesday 7th January 2026 at 7.00am for burial at the family farm in Ol Kalou.

Walter Allan Odhiambo Onyango

22.03. 1976 – 24. 12.2025

It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Walter Allan Odhiambo Onyango, which occurred on the night of Wednesday, 24th December 2025. He worked at Royang International and Owner of Capybara Ltd. Formerly employed at ICS Kenya and Ghana.

Son of the late Mzee Richard Onyango Ongeche and the late Mama Joyce Clara Odemba Onyango of Alego, Nyadhi, Siaya County. Son-in-law of the late Mzee Francis Odera and the late Mama Christine Odera of Gem-Uranga, Siaya County and Husband of Vivianne Damar Odhiambo.

Father of Shawn Melvin Onyango Odhiambo and Allan Otieno Odhiambo.

Brother of the late Judith, Emily, the late Tony, Grace, Philip, Audrey, Linda, Anna, Amanda and Adelle.

Brother-in-law of the late James, Daniel, Maurice, Edwin, Nashon, and Eva.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, 7th January 2026 at St. Mark’s ACK Church,Westlands Nairobi, from 2.30 pm.

The burial will be held on Saturday 10th January 2026 at Alego, Nyadhi, Siaya County.

Father-in-law of Wangari Mungai, George Thairu Kamau and James Mwangi Kihara. Dotting grandfather of Kevin James Mungai, Sammy Kyle Chifallu, Jonathan Kamau Thairu, James NjenzaThairu, jayden Jamil Meho, Hayley Nadine Meho, Gracie Wanjira Mungai, Dylan Ndungu Kamau, Katelyn Wamaitha, Hope Wanjira, Jason Martin Thairu, Jibril Meho, Nahia Gow and Matthew Njenga Mwangi.

There will be a requiem mass at St Austin’s Church, Msongari today Monday 5th January 2026 at 12 noon.

The funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday 7th January 2026 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church Kiambaa, Kiambu at 10 am followed thereafter by the interment at the family farm.
