Grace Odhiambo

With sadness and jubilation, we the Odhiambo family, announce the peaceful eternal rest of Grace Odhiambo (91) on 20th October 2025 after a long life well lived. She was a past Deputy Headmistress of Moi Girls School Nairobi. To God Almighty we give thanks and glory.

Beloved wife of the late Professor Douglas Odhiarnbo. Devoted mother of Elizabeth Ochieng, the late Debbie Odhiambo, Francis Odhiambo, Rebecca Owiti, Hezekiah Okaka, and Jacob Odhiambo. Mother-in-law of Dr. Yvonne Oluoch (Oxford UK). Dr Geoffrey Owiti, Norah Okaka and Jacqueline Odhiambo.

Daughter of the late Senior Chief Jacob Ochuka and the late Elizabeth Ochuka and Wilkister Ochuka. Sister of the late Gladys Aduda, the late Elphas Oyuga, Robert Angwech, Dorothy Oketch, the late Jennifer Ochuka, Edwina Ochuka, the late Francis Obunga, George Omolo, Margaret Adhiambo and others.

Sister-in law of the late Athanasso Ong’or and the late Matilda Ong’or, the late Abner Ochieng and Gertrude Ochieng, the late Samuel Onyango and Elizabeth Onyango, the late Christopher Adeny and the late Janet Adeny, the late Okello and the late Nellie Okello, the late Samuel Aduda. Elizabeth Angwech. David Oketch, Mark Jagero, Elizabeth Obunga and others.

Nyawana of Zablon and the late Belina Ochwaya (Kakamega), Jared and Esnas Othwilla (Ugenya), the late John Wandolo and Elizabeth Wandolo (Bondo) and the late Charles and Peninah Owiti (Gem).

Mama Grace’s legacy will be celebrated and appreciated at a Funeral Service at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi on Friday 31st October 2025 at 14.00 Hrs.

She will be laid to rest at her home in Mariwa, Migori County on 4th November 2025 starting from 09:00 Hrs.

There will be a gathering of friends to condole with the family at All Saints Cathedral on Tuesday 28th October 2023 at 17:00 hrs.
