Arch. Joseph Angulu Shikumo

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Arch. Joseph Angulu Shikumo, which occurred on 25 March, 2026, from complications arising from a short illness.

Son of the late Mzee Harritone Shikumo and the late Mama Joyce Mbayi Shikumo of Ebushisoka, Khushiku in Khwisero, Kakamega County.

Son-in-law of the late Rev Habil and the late Rev Josephine Olembo, of Wanakhale village, East Bunyore, Vihiga County.

Beloved husband of the late Lydia Anindo Shikumo. Cherished father of Dorothy Mbuthia, Edith and Edgar Shikumo. Loving father-in-law of George Mbuthia and Catherine Okumu, Doting grandfather of Mugo and Njeri Mbuthia; and Andayi and Baraka Shikumo.

Devoted brother of George Shikumo, Florence Eshiteti, Jephrice Azangalala, Elkana Shikumo,Wilfred Arunga (all late), Gibson Shikumo and Omurana Shikumo.

Loving brother-in-law of Alice Shikumo, Wycliffe Eshiteti, Samuel Olembo, Prof Reuben Olembo, Prof Jotham Olembo, Evans Olembo, Johnstone Olembo (all late), Rtd Judge Festus Azangalala, Agnetta, Shikumo, Anne Shikumo, Mrs Christine Wakhu, Dr Sarah Olembo,Aggrey Olembo and Dr Norman Olembo.

Nephew of late Herman Amboko and Abisaki Akwabi among others.

Devoted cousin of Dr Wameyo, Rhoda Mbati, Dr Mumia, and Job Amboko (all late), Fred Oyombe and Franklin Amboko among others.

Loving uncle of the Wameyos, Mbatis, Ulars, Mumias, Sakwas, Wakungwis, Mumias, Weches, Oyombes, and Shakaba’s, Eshitetis, Azangalala, Olembos, and Wak.hus.A friend and mentor to many.

A memorial service shall be held on Wednesday the 8th of April 2026, at All Saints Cathedral Church from 12 noon, and he will thereafter be laid to rest at his home in Maraba in Ma.kunga, Kakarnega County on the 10th of April, 2026.
