In Loving Memory

Today is the 1st anniversary of the day we lost you, Mom. We do not know how to grief until we grief And though we are full of sadness that you are no longer here, your influence still guides us. Sister, we have learnt that time does not change anything it only teaches us to live with pain. We still miss the sound of your voice, the stories you told, the ring of your laugh and your presence that glowed. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Till we meet again, always in our hearts. Revelation 21:4

In Loving Memory

A loving wife, a mother and a very dear friend; loved by all. Her soul is at rest with the Lord Almighty. A child of God. She definitely was the best.

Your many acts are forever held in our hearts and captured in our minds. You were such a kind and gentle soul, yet strong as steel and so very bold. Your love for all of us made every day brighter. You left a big hole in our lives, but we carry on each day, Knowing you are still watching over us.

You shall forever be missed by your family, relatives and friends that you touched in different ways. A good name is better than good ointment, and the day of death than the day of Birth. (Ecclesiastes: 7:1)

“Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear.”

1st Anniversary

It has been one year since you left us and it still hurts more than ever. We miss you dearly and wish that you were here with us.

We still have vivid memories of the Saturday morning when you left us for a better place high above and no matter how much time passes by, it still hurts a lot. Your memory is alive within us, we think of you every day with each passing moment You were the best person we could ever ask for and the world was a better place with you in it. You were a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather, a generous soul to the community around you and an understanding friend who was always there for everyone.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Though death stole you from us, you will forever have your place in our hearts. We mark a year of your passing with the same feelings as every other day – sadness that you are gone and wishing we could tell you one more time how much we care for you and love you.

The family will be conducting a memorial service at his home in Nyamira opposite St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on 20th February, 2021.

You are dearly missed by your wife, daughters, sons, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Continue resting in peace till we meet again.

1st Anniversary

Mom, losing you was like having a hole shot straight through us, a painful, constant reminder, an absence we will never fill. You taught us that we would rather die a meaningful death than live a meaningless life. God chose to take you to heaven on 15-02-2020 and for that, we will praise him even in the midst of all the pain. The pain doesn’t leave quickly. It’s not meant to and at times the pain overwhelms us but it is in those moments, we do the only thing we can do. We rehearse the timeless truths upon which we have anchored our souls- the truth that God is sovereign, and he is good. The truth that Job recited, thousands of years ago, in his agony: “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers so instead of mourning the void of the life that we lost, we will celebrate the life that was lived because we have to always remember that it not by our will but by thy Grace. May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your land, May the rain fall soft upon your face until we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure by your children Caroline Matu-Moli, Jane Kinaga, Joseph Kihato Matu, Gilbert Mwangi Matu & Philip Karumi Matu .Your grandchildren Peter Matu Maina, Matu Mwangi, Njeri Mwangi, Grace Kihato, Matu Kihato, Njenga Kihato, Cherie Kihato, Susan Koros, Mark Kinaga, Ruby Karumi, James Karumi, Taye Moli, Alanna Elizabeth Moli & Njeri Moli, Your in laws Muthoni Mwangi, Nyokabi Kihato, Tabitha Muthoni & Allan Moli, Wairimu & Carol thank you for loving our mom with no reservations. Lastly, Agnes Mwangi, your niece who took care of you when you were at your lowest like you were her mother Agnes, please accept our deepest gratitude from all of us who loved and cared for mom. We will never forget.

The saddest moment is when the person that gave you the best memories becomes a memory

Josephine Wanjiru Gachuru (Governor)

It has been two years.

At times, the pain is twice as much. At other times, the thought of grief nearly disappears from the memory. But then it is back again. A smile on the face, a nod of the head to remember the happy times we had with you.

We wish you were here.We wish we could come and spend time together. Laugh together. Eat together. Pray together. Now, we pray knowing we will be with you one day.

Our tears of sorrow are mixed with tears of joy.As we remember you, the pain is tempered with the gladness.

Day by day, we are getting stronger because we know that is what you always wanted.

Tomorrow is not given, but the joy we have is from knowing you ran the race and fough• the good fight.

Remembered affectionately by Family and Friends.

It is one year today since that sad day you left us to be with the Lord.

We thank God for the years we shared and the blessing you were to each one of us. We are encouraged by our wonderful memories of you, your love, cheerfulness and guiding hand.

Your selfless service and love for God continue to inspire the best in us.

We are proud of you dear wife and mum. You will forever remain in our hearts.

Even as we grieve we take strength in the scriptures and believe we will see you again at Christ’s second coming.

Fondly missed by your loving family and friends.
