We, the family of the late Michael Mugoh Gatimu wish to express our deep gratitude to friends, former colleagues, the Christian fraternity and all others who stood with us during this difficult time.

Special thanks go to His Excellency Hon, Uhuru Kenyatta, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces for condoling with our family, extending words of sympathy, and providing tremendous support during the time of bereavement We are indeed truly grateful.

We also wish to recognize the great effort made by the funeral organizing committee led by Mr. Daniel Njaibu, assisted by Dr. Steve Mugo, Mrs. Leah Muchiri, Eng. Gift Kinuthia and Mr. Mark Mulatya whose efforts were instrumental during preparation for both the memorial and funeral of our beloved Michael.

Special thanks also go to the National Treasury PS and the Accountants’ fraternity through the Accountant General’s Office led by Mr. Bernard Ndungu for condoling with the family through kind words and financial support shared during the period. Kindly accept our gratitude.

To all Mzee’s friends your presence, support and stories of Michael greatly uplifted the family spirits during this trying time, God bless You all. Our family also thanks the Kileleshwa Community Covenant Church, Rev Joshua Karani and his Church – Faith Reformed Baptist Church – for providing spiritual nourishment as well as conducting both the memorial and funeral services of the late Michael. To the Kileleshwa neighbourhood for standing with us through prayers and their participation during the difficult period, we thank you.

The family also wishes to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the medical team led by Dr. Njoki Njiraini who attended to Michael during his illness. We further wish to recognize the support of the larger Gatimu Family, all our friends and well-wishers, through you all we actualized the celebration of Michael’s life. You provided kind and encouraging words, prayers, material and financial support during Michael’s illness and final send-off. We sincerely thank you all and pray for God’s blessings upon you.

Michael Clung to the Old Rugged Cross, that He will exchange someday for His Crown.

We the family of the late Grace Wanjiru Kahira, wish to extend our deepest gratitude to all who supported us following her sudden demise.

Our appreciation goes out to the Moderator, Elders, the Woman’s Guild and the Congregation of PCEA Nkoroi Church who took time to be with us, led several fellowships at our Oloika Matasia home and also led the funeral service. In addition, we are very grateful for the support we received from the Congregations of PCEA Evergreen Runda, PCEA Happy Valley Thika, PCEA Kandisi Rongai, PCEA Toll Ruiru and PCEA Ruaka.

We sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of Aga Khan University Hospital and The Nairobi Hospital where the late Grace received treatment. We also appreciate Utunzaji Nursing who attended to her while she was recuperating at home.

We appreciate the many groups that visited us physically or sent us messages of comfort, notably our neighbours at Oloika Matasia; Oloika Welfare Group; our relatives; our friends; Directors, Management and staff of Galana Oil Kenya Ltd; Directors, Management and staff of Directline Assurance Co. Ltd; and the numerous social and fellowship groups who rallied around us.

Finally, we are very grateful to the Organizing Committees in Nairobi and Oloika Matasia for so ably organizing the funeral.

We, the family of the late Martin Goga Anyango and the Ministry of Devolution and ASALs wish to express our deepest gratitude and praises to the Almighty God for the life we shared with Martin. Until his demise on July 22th, 2021, Martin was Assistant Director, Devolution Affairs at the State Department for Devolution and Programme Coordinator of Kenya Devolution Support Programme in the Ministry of Devolution and ASAL

We wish to appreciate all the people who supported us in all forms, from acts of sympathy, words of encouragement, prayers, material and financial support during his sickness and final send-off. Special thanks to the Ministry of Devolution & ASAL for their tremendous support and standing with the family during the entire period Martin was unwell and during the funeral.

We are particularly grateful to Hon. Eugene Wamalwa EGH – Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Devolution & ASALS, Mr. Julius K. Sincere thanks to the Clergy and Parish of St. Francis Church-Karen and ACK Church- Mukonjo for their comforting prayers and spiritual nourishment in this – – darkest moment. We extend our appreciation to the Mothers’ Union and Bible Fellowship Groups for the continued prayers and encouragement in this journey.

It is with profound sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Eng Mercy Karimi Kathare.

She was the first born Daughter to Samuel Mutugi Kathare (NMS) & Jennifer Chelangat Too (UON Health Services). Loving sister to Daniel Mugambi (I&M), Emmanuel Mark Kathare (KSL) and Dorcas Kendi (JKUAT). Granddaughter to Ernest Too (Late) & Penina Too of Kericho, and Madgaline Kaindu (Late) & M Kathare (Late).

Niece to John, Beatrice, Vicky, Rose, Charles, Livingston & Gilbert of Kericho. And Celestine, Mary, Silas, Susan, Gakwaji & Kathiutuku of Mukothima. Cousin to June, Valentine, Sylvia, Eva, Samuel Joshua, Mercy, Cynthia, Dennis, Gideon, Inspector Mwiti, Wilson, Sofia, David, Simon and many others. She will also be dearly missed by her friends who she deeply cherished.

Mercy was born and raised in Kericho where she schooled in Eland Academy and Kericho Primary School (2005). She attended Loreto High School, Limuru (2009), and later Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture of Technology (JKUAT) where she pursued Marine Engineering, during which she also attended Onboard Training at Korea Maritime and Ocean University in South Korea, and graduated in (2015). Until her demise, Mercy was a Shift Engineer at MAN Energy Solutions Kenya (Triumph Power Plant Kitengela). She worked diligently and rose through the ranks to become a Shift Engineer (Supervisor), a position she held until her unfortunate demise.

A memorial service will be held at CITAM Valley Road Friday 24th September 2021 starting from 9am, Followed by a Funeral Service at Mukothima, Tharaka Nithi County on Friday 25th September 2021.

There will be a fundraiser on Wednesday 22nd September 2021 at CITAM Valley Road from 4:30PM.

The family wishes to send a special appreciation to our relatives and friends for your care and support during this time of grief.

We, the siblings, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, of the late Samuel Mirie Gachathi, wholeheartedly thank all those who walked the journey with us after the sudden demise of our loved one on 2nd July 2021.

We would particularly like to thank all our families including the Nyakinyori and Mirie families for their unending love, Mirie’s friends and friends of the family for their unwavering support, the Viraka Group for showing us the essence of true friendship, the Funeral Committee and the supporting team in Kiambaa for giving of their time and resources to give Mirie a wonderful send off, Karura Community Chapel, Nairobi Chapel and St. Marks Church Westlands for their continuous spiritual guidance.

Mirie has left a legacy of love, dedication, generosity, humility, and service, faithfully and carefully nurtured over his 56 years of life.
