As the days go by, we continue to thank God for the precious moments we shared with Njambi. The memories will forever live in our hearts, as we continue to cherish her.

We are immensely grateful to dear family and friends who stood with us, cared for us and prayed with us as we mourned Njambi. Your spiritual, emotional and material support made it possible for us to give her a dignified send off.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Njambi’s doctors for their commitment. Special thanks to her caring nurses Carol and Lucy. We are forever indebted to you. We are very grateful to the Catholic Diocese of Muranga and St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Kitisuru for the pastoral care. Our sincere thanks to the organizing committees, Board of Directors – Elysian Resort and to our dear hosts at The Luke Hotel.

We the family of the late Captain Dennis Gateri Wanderi, sincerely give thanks to the Almighty God for the life well lived by our beloved.

Our gratitude goes out to Reverend Joseph Mwangi and the pastoral team of the Mamlaka Hill Chapel for prayers and words of encouragement during the meetings, memorial service in Nairobi and the funeral service in Nakuru.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our relatives and friends both in Kenya and abroad, and Gateri’s colleagues in the aviation industry for their moral, spiritual, and financial support, ensuring that Gateri received swell-deserved and befitting sendoff.

Special thanks goes to Aircraft Leasing Services (ALS), Kenya Airways (KQ), Amref Ambulance Services, United Kenya Club, and the funeral steering committees in Nairobi, and Nakuru.

We also wish to recognize The Aga Khan University Hospital Nairobi’s management and medical teams who provided exceptional care and attended to Gateri tirelessly.

We recognize the contribution and prayers from retired and serving Generals as well as the Old Navy Comrades.

Our deepest gratitude goes to Col. Rtd Fred Okello and Mr, Elsama Ndegwa for the excellent organization of burial requirements which they executed to perfection. They were ably assisted by children and Mr. & Mrs. Ariya, Melony, Maxwell, Tina, Peter and Linah.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing away of Mohamed Zahir Ahmad Malik (M.Z.A. Malik), of A H. Malik and Company, Advocates on Friday 4th June 2021 at The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi after a short illness.

Loving Husband to Naima Akhtar. Father to Alim, Muin and Farah. Father-in-Law to Lesley, Patrizia and Tim. Grandfather to Cameron and Aiden.

He was a member of the Senior Counsel Bar (Convener), Former Chairperson of the Law Society of Kenya, Founder Member of the Asian Foundation, Member of the Standing Committee on Human Rights, Member of the Board of Governors of Dr. Ribeiro Parklands School, Nairobi and Barrister (Gray’s Inn).

The funeral was held on 5 June 2021.

The family wishes to thank the medical and nursing team at The Aga Khan University Hospital (especially the High Dependency Unit) for their exceptional care and kindness.

He will be missed by all.
