It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mwalimu Peter Simon Opiyo Obimba of Ebuwala Village, Nambale Sub-county, Busia County. The late wentto be with the Lord on 20/10/2020 (Mashujaa Day).

Peter is survived by his wife Electine Atieno Opiyo and children: Jackline, Karen, Dancun, Kevin, Sarah, Edna, Gaspar, Rodgers, Hielder, Christine, Veronicah as well as his adopted son Pancun. A grandfather, an uncle, an in-law and friend to many.

| Meetings are taking place daily at his home in Nambale.

The cortege will leave Tanaka Funeral Home on 30/10/2020 for a requiem mass at St Mary’s DEB Primary School and thereafter proceed to his home.

Funeral Service will be held on 31/10/2020 at Nambale Youth Polytechnic grounds, followed by burial at his home.

Korir, Esther Toroitich and Aienla Zochin. Loving father of Francis Mlembani Kiprotich, Kigen Erick Prinsloo, Alvin Kipkosgei Dan, Vivian Jerop Zochin and Bruce Kipkoech Zochin.

Funeral arrangements are on-going. He will be laid to rest on 31st October, 2020 at his home Cheptulon village, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Sister to Susan and the late Peter Muratha, the late Edith Mugo, Tiebo Mugo, Muthoni & Mutune Mungai, Wairimu & Axel Pertersen, the late Wanjiru & Edward Mathu, the late Njuguna Mugo and Wacheke Mugo. Sister-ins law to Moses & Beatrice Wagura, Mazy & the late Duncan Ndung’u, Cyrus & Damaris Wambugu, Virginia & the late Kireru Mathenge, Linus &Lily Thirima, Wanjuld the late Eva Muchemi, Jeff & Naomi Ngatunyi and Lilian & the late John Kingori. Grandmother to Nicole, Arthur, Elsie, Ty, Aayden, Mendi and Nadia. Auntie, cousin and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at 4.00 pm for prayers at their Ruai Residence (Igwamiti).

The cortege will leave the Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home (along the Northern Bypass) on Saturday 31st October, 2020 at 7.00 am for the funeral service to be held at PCEA Miagayuini Church, Kimathi Location in Nyeri County at 11.00 am; followed by the burial Arigir ceremony at Tubania Farm. Final burial rites will be conducted in accordance with the Ministry of Health COVID-19 guidelines.

The body leaves Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kahawa West on Friday 30/10/2020 at 9.00am for the final resting ceremony at her Ruai Home, Kangundo Road, near Gituamba PCEA Church.

Thereafter the body will be taken to his residence for an overnight Vigil.

Prayers and Burial will take place on Saturday 31st October, 2020 at 9.00am at his Farm in Kapnyamisa Village, Chesumei Constituency, Nandi County.

The Cortege will leave MTRH Mortuary, on Thursday 29th October. 2020 at 10.00am for a memorial service at Sirikwa Pentecostal Church, Eldoret and thereafter for an overnight stay at his home in Outspan. The burial will be on Friday 30th October, 2020.
