He was husband of the late Rael Sarmwei, Anne Sarmwei of Mogon and Anne Sarmwei of Moi University. Father of Jane, John, Hussein, Kemboi, Kernel, Jepkosgei, Juma, Ali, Chelimo, Chemurgor, Chebet, Chepkoech, Flora, Jemutai, Kipruto, Cheptoo and Cherop. Grandfather and great grandfather of many.

The cortege will leave Eldoret Hospital Mortuary today Monday 24th August 2020 and will be followed by the burial tomorrow Tuesday 25th 2020 at his home in Cheptabach, Cheptiret, Uasin Gishu County.
