Beloved son of Mr. Peter Gathondu Miti and Dr. Beatrice Gachambi Gathondu (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Karen Campus). Brother of Denis Ngugi Gathondu (Andela Kenya) and Liz Ngima Gathondu (Strathmore University).

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at the family residence in Karen and the Tiwi Sports Lounge (Next to Hillcrest School).

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday 23rd August 2019 at 7.00am for the service and funeral at Kiawaithanji village, Nyeri County near Kagumo Teachers College.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret Wambui Njogu and Jane Wangui Njogu. Loving father of Ziporah Nyawira Wainana, John Munene Njogu, Ann Muthoni Njogu, James Munene Njogu and Margaret Nyawira Njogu. Brother-of the late Phylis Wambui Maina and Charles Ngatia Nguchuga. Proud grandfather of Lewis Kahora Wainaina, Lorna Wanjiru Wainaina, Ryan Njogu Munene and Letisha Wambui Wainaina. Brother-in-law of Margaret Waruguru, Grace Wangeci, the late David Maina, Eunice Wairimu, Charles Kabatha, John Wambugu, Mary Wangari, Charles Gatoto, Peter Gichuki and Agnes Wanjiku.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at his home in Murera Coffee-Ruiru from 6.00pm for prayers and burial arrangements.

The cortege will be leaving Kenyatta University Mortuary on Thursday, 22nd August, 2019 at 8.00am for funeral service at St Michaels Catholic Church at 11.00am and thereafter interment shall be at his home in Murera Coffee-Ruiru.

Grandfather and great-grandfather of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his Kiandarwa home, Gacharageini.

The cortege leaves Kiriaiini Mission Hospital, on Friday 23rd August at 08:00am for a funeral service at ACK Kiagararo Church followed by a burial at his home in Kiandarwa, Gacharageini, Mathioya Sub-county, Muranga County.

Husband of Sabina Wairimu John and Carolyne Waithira John. Son of the late Matthew Ng’ang’a Kagai and Lucy Wanjiku Ng’ang’a.

Father of Jane Waithira, Everlyne Wanjiku, Chrissp Kamau, Stecy Wanjiku, Lenny Ng’ang’a, Tyress Thiiru, Wyne Matthew Ng’ang’a Junior.

Brother of Samuel Kiarie, Paul Mbua, Andrew Kagai, Emmah Wambui, Agnes Wanjira David Maina,Evans Mburu, Geoffrey Ndungu (Wakirairu).

Step-brother of the late Francis Kagai, the late Paul Gichiri, Samuel Ng’ang’a, Auria Wanjira and John Ngahu.

Uncle of Lazarus Mburu Evans Mwangi Waweru among many others.

Relatives and friends are meeting at Hotel Blue Spring-Nairobi, Hotel Metro Fill-Thika at his home Githingiri Estate and Gathiru-ini village, Mukurwe Gatanga, Murang’a County.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Saturday 24th August 2019 at 7:00 am for funeral service at Githambia Primary School grounds and thereafter burial at his home Athiruini village.

Friends and family shall be meeting daily from 5.30pm at his home in Buruburu Phase 2 and at Mununga Village upto 22nd August, 2019 for prayers and funeral arrangements. There will also be other meetings at Tumaini House on Tuesday 20th August, 2019 and Wednesday 21st August, 2019.

There will be a requiem service on Wednesday 21st August, 2019 at ACK St James Church Buruburu starting at 2.00pm.

He was an emeritus Professor in Education at the University of Eastern Africa – Baraton, the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University. He was also a former Director of Education for the Kenya Union of the SDA Church.

Son of the late Pastor Luka Amayo and Mama Esther Akoth of Kayoo-Kakdhimu, West Karachuonyo. Son-in-Law of the late Mzee Eliakim Matete Marwa and the late Mama lsdora Achola Matete of Manila village, Shirati district, Tanzania. Husband of Mama Dinah Amayo. Father of the late Nelson Ochien’g, Japheth Olwa and the late Shem Okeyo. Grandfather of Petronilla, Kennedy, Ruth, Salome, Faith, Richard and Esther. Great-grandfather of Edith, Gift and Prince.
