It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mama Margaret Mwenje Songa which occurred on April 30th, 2019.

Daughter of the late William Namaswa Namasaka and Koko Ruth Khacievi Namaswa. Sister to Liru, the late Waluse, the late Ezekiel, Mary Naliaka, the late Mukhwami, the late Jomo, Shikuku, the late Mjumbe, Simyu and Hellen Namaswa. Wife of the late James Lumbasi Songa. Sister in-law to Senje Priscilla Khamusa Wechenje. Mother to Beatrice Nanyama Songa, Ruth Khatievi Songa -Kulundu (IEBC), the late Nixon Namasaka Songa, the late Lydia Khakasa Songa, Clifford Lumbasi Songa (Kenyatta University) and Jimmy Mindoti Songa (Tigoni Sub-County Hospital). Mother-in-law of Damiano Manda Kulundu (University of Nairobi).

Doting grandmother of Victor Manda Kulundu (USA), Arnold James Kulundu (Strathmore University), Linnea Bweya Kulundu (Riara Springs Girls High School), Margaret Namasaka, Millicent Namasaka (Invest and Grow SACCO), Maureen Namasaka (Technical University of Mombasa), Lydia Namasaka (St. Cecilia Girls — Mautuma), James Songa Namasaka and Yvonne Lumbasi (Nancy George Primary School). Co-wife to Leah Koko and Agnes Nyongesa. Step-mother to the late Jafred Joshua Songa,Veronica Makunda, the the late Beldinah Mufoya, Eunice Musengeli, the late Juma Songa, the late Bonface Nyongesa, Moses Songa, John Songa, Mulupi Songa, Pamela Songa, Mark Songa, Daniel Songa and Charles Songa.

Fare thee well mum/grandma till we meet again – at the resurrection morning.

There will be a fundraising today both at home in Soy – Sergoit Scheme (2.00pm) and at United Kenya Club (opposite St. Paul’s Chapel) in Nairobi (5:30pm).

The cortege will leave Moi Teaching Referral Morgue tomorrow, Wednesday May 7th, 2019 for her Muriola Farm in Soy – Sergoit Scheme for burial on Friday, May 10th, 2019.

Further to the earlier announcement by The Manyasi Family about the passing of their beloved Alphonse `Gogo’ Ojiambo Manyasi, on the morning of Sunday the 17th of March, 2019, we hereby also announce the passing of our elder brother Gilbert Johnstone Ogolla Manyasi which occurred on Easter Sunday night, the 21st of April, 2019.

Gilbert and Alphonse were the fourth and seventh children of the late David C.O Manyasi and Bibiana R.A. Manyasi. Gilbert is father of Tina Suero, Gloria Akumu, Diana-Louise, Rojan Ogolla, Ian, late Bina, Donna, Bella-Janno and Dean-Lola. Grandfather of Brel Suero. Alphonse is father of Angela, Michelle, Devinah and Phidelma. Brothers of Gonzo-Dennis, Lydia, Redempta, Anthony and Makarious, the late Fred-Dick, Martin-Lambert and Wilfrida-Dudu.

There will be a requiem mass for both at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Nairobi South B on Wednesday the 8th of May 2019 from 10:00 am.

The homeward journey to Rugunga Village, Bunyala South, (Budalang’i Constituency, Busia County) will be on Thursday morning (09/05/2019), departing at 8.00am from the Chiromo mortuary premises via Kisumu City.

On Saturday the 11th, a combined funeral service will be conducted within the premises of Bunyala Stadium aka Siagonjo, followed by the double burial across the road in the ancestral home of the Manyasis in Rugunga Village, Ebuyanga.

They have fought good fights, they’ve finished their races.

Strictly no politics in these funeral ceremonies.

The cortege leaves Kaimosi Morgue on Thursday 9th May 2019 at 9:00am and proceeds to Friends church Gavudunyi for Memorial service.

Funeral service will be held at Gavudunyi primary school on Saturday 11th May 2019 at 9:00 a.m and thereafter burial at her home in Gavudunyi Village, Hamisi.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Monica Awori of Nambuku Village, in her sleep early morning on Thursday 25th April 20 19.

Wife of the late Kasimili Awori (Omunyineki). Daughter to the late Mzee Albert Masiga Meyo (Omukangala) and the late Anna Nabwire Mbalwa (Omubukaki). Sister to Adelia Auma, Ekoko Masiga, Mulumia Masiga, Anne Kosima Aoko, the late Ogutu, Marita, the late Barasa, the late Susan, the late Teresa and Joseph.

She was blessed with twelve children:- Martha Auma Owichi, the late Josephat George Awori, Magdalene Ogali (HT Shianda), Rosemary Barasa (OGW MD JKF), Vincent Awori (Village Admin), the late Mildred Awori, Stephen Awori (County revenue) Peter Barasa and Eunice Awori.

The cortege will leave Sega Mission Hospital on Thursday 9th at 10.00am, for a requiem mass at Nambuku Catholic Church.

Burial date is set for 11th May at Nambuku Village.

Major (Rtd) Nothiah Githiiyi Muhoro rested on Tuesday, 30th April 2019 at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital (DFMH). Major, in his heydays wore the green beret, and served with the 20 Para Battalion. He was a soldier, a husband, a father, a friend.

Son of the late Josephine Nduta and Muhoro Waithiru. Son-in-law of the late Isabella Gathoni and Moses Ngugi. The family led by his loving wife Lily Nyambura, children George and Janet Muhoro, Nduta and Mazaar Githegi as well as grandchildren; Nigel, Judah, Moses, Nothiah and Gicheru invite you to a memorial service to celebrate Major’s life on Thursday, 9th May 2019 at Consolata Church, Westlands from 0930Hrs.

“Major” was an awesome Brother, Cousin, Uncle, Nephew, Friend and Mentor to many and will be missed for his wisdom, wit, humour and strength.

“The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.” You dared to live Major.

The cortege leaves Jamii Nursing Home, Karatina on Friday 10th/05/2019 at 9.30am. Funeral service will be held at Miiri PCEA Church at 11.00am, thereafter, burial will follow at her home in Miiri Village.

He was the son of Stephen Muriithi and Elizabeth Muthoni. Husband to Esther Wamuyu Gichohi and father of Sandra Njeri, Patience Muthoni, Ryan Muriithi and Alvin Muthee. Brother to Benson Mwangi, John Kariuki and Lilian Njeri. Son in law to Daniel Muthee Thairu and Salome Wanjugu Muthee and brother in law to George Wachira Muthee, David Thairu Muthee and Miriam Njeri Muthee. He was uncle to Victoria Muthoni, cousin to James Mwangi, Peterson Njogu, Miriam Njeri Kiringu and Pauline Wanjiku.

The body will be laid to rest on Thursday 9/5/2019 at his Father’s home in Kona Sita Village, Munyu-Kabaru Location, Nyeri County, at 10:00am.

Family and friends are meeting at his home in Witeithie, near Nyacaba Secondary School and at his father’s home at Kona Sita Munyu-Kabaru location.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Mortuary on Thursday 9/5/2019 at 7:00am.
