DANIEL NGUNJIRI MBUTHIA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Daniel Ngunjiri Mbuthia of Munyaka, Nanyuki which occurred on 1st  January 2026.

He was son of the late Stephen Mbuthia and the late Lucy Wathote and step-son of the late Virginia Wambui. He was a dear brother to the late Joseph Waruinge, Peninah Wanja, the late Andrew Karimi, Nicodemus Kamangu, Janet Wagaki, Esther Muiru and the late Ann Waithera. He was a step-brother to the late Mary Wanja, John Kwirika, Gichuhi Mbuthia, Daniel Ngunjiri, Beatrice Wanjiru and Gabriel Mugo.

Daniel was a loving husband to the late Agnes Gathoni Ngunjiri. He was a caring father to Lucy Wathote, Joyce Nyokabi, Catherine Wanja, and Joseph and Angeline Mbuthia. He was grandfather to Letoya and Imali Kiragu, Daniel Ngecu, Kelvin Ngunjiri, and Joy Gathoni. He was a great-grandfather to Tajeu Kiragu.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers at his family home in Munyaka, Nanyuki.

Requiem Mass will be held at the following venues:

1. Nanyuki: Tuesday, 6th January at 11.00am at the family home
2. Nairobi: Thursday, 8th January at 5.30pm at the Ground Floor Allamano Centre, Consolata Shrine,  Westlands

The funeral service and burial will be held at his family home in Munyaka, Nanyuki on Tuesday 13th January from 11.00am

He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness and generosity.
