Dionysius Gatobu Marete

With humble acceptance of Gods will, we announce the passing of Dionysius Gatobu Marete, formerly of Kenya RE and DC, on 25th October 2025.

He was the son of Senior Chief Festus Kiautha Marete and Mariam Kiautha; son-in-law of the late Samuel Mwangi Kabue and Jane Waithera and Priscilla Wangui.

Beloved husband of Lucy Wambui Gatobu (Kitengela), cherished father of Kenneth Muriuki Gatobu (USA) and Roy Mwangi Gatobu (Enkavilla Properties, Karen). Father-in-law of Lenah Kanyua Muriuki (USA).

A dear brother of Nkatha, Gacheri, the late Paul, Bridget, and the !ate Karani, brother-in-law of Muchai, Kinyua, the late loyce, Gatobu, Anne, Mr & Mrs Peter Karanja, Mr & Mrs R. Karuru, Rev. Mr & Mrs Henry Gacheru Kaira, Mr & Mrs Daniel Gathaiya among many others..

Adored grandfather of Zhara, Zorah and Zani Muriuki (USA). He was uncle, mentor and friend to many.

The cortege leaves KU Mortuary on 1st November 2025, for the funeral and burial at his Githongo home, Imenti  Central, Meru County.

May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest.
