Elder Elijah Teya Sitimah

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Elder Elijah Teya Sitimah, which occurred on 14th February 2026.

He was the loving son of Jane Machoka Onchiri and Samuel Onchiri. Grandson of Sitimah Nyamaiko, Priscah Nyamesa Magembe, Barnabas Teya Nyamaiko and Obachi Machoka from Kiamokama Kisii County.

Beloved husband of Beatrice Bonaren. Loving father of Dr. Nyamisa, Barongo (KSL) and Motende Teya (Mangu High School).

Brother of Manani, Nyamagera, Onserio, Bitengo, Rwoti, Nyaega, Magoma, Margaret, Ondati and Moraa.

Nephew of Peter-Jerry, Nyokwoyo, Onwong’a, Gesarc. Mary, Isabella, Pens, Sitimah, Fred Obachi Machoka and others.

Son-in-law of the late (Caleb Motende and Truphena), Machogu, Ngige, Martha and Jerusha Motende.

Cousin of Jared, Jacky, Momanyi, Ondati, Kennedy Nyamao, Abel Ondati, and others.

Brother-in-law of the late (Evans and Nyarangi), Jane, Elijah, Kepha, Mobisa, Jackson, Gladys, Robert and Dr. Motende. Uncle of many.

Elijah Teya Sitimah built a distinguished career as a Homan Resource Manager, serving in VarlOt” capacities across several organizations in the country including Lloyd Masika, the Nairobi Hospital, Safaricorn, Nestle’ Kenya, East African Br eweries Limited, ISO BP-0 and G4S where he served as Regional Human Resource Director.

He also served as Chairperson of the Institute of Human Resource Management in Kenya and is specially credited with leading the first Council following the enactment of the Human Resource Management Professionals Act, laying a strong foundation for institute’s governance, growth and professional standards.

His legacy of integrity, service and commitment remain: firmly embedded in the hearts of the many professionals he mentored, guided and inspired throughout his distinguished career, and in the hearts of all who knew him.

Daily meetings are being held at his home in Nairobi.

The main fundraiser to offset medical and funeral expenses will be held on 24/212026 at 5:00 PM at Maxwell SDA Church Old Sanctuary (Paybill Name: Elder Elijah Sitimah Funeral Fund Paybill No 4814559 Account No Your Name).

The funeral service will be held at Newlife SDA Church, Nairobi, on 25/2/2026 from 12e00 pro The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home or 26/2/2026 at 10:00 am.

Burial will take place on 27/2/2026 at his home in Narok.

May God comfort the family as we await the resurrection day.
