It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Elizabeth Katanu Mbebe Ilako on 13th May 2025, after a long illness bravely borne. She was a devoted former teacher, an administrator, a great mentor, a role model and a friend to many.

Beloved daughter of the late Mzee James Mbebe Nzili and the late Mama Rachael Ndune Mbebe of Maaini Village, Ikutha Sub-County, Kitui County.

Mother of Lucas & Judy Mumo, Susan Kimanzi, Timothy & Ruth Ilako and Michael & Dr. Natasha Ilako.

Adored grandmother of Katanu Mwendwa, Katanu & Jeremy Mumo, Nathaniel & Calvin Ilako, llani,Arianna & Micah Ilako.

Sister of David & Rose, Joseph & Franciscah, Rtd. Major Mbebe & the late Sarah,Washington & Rhoda, Margaret, the late Noah, Jacinta & Selina, Job & Eliza, Lily & Justice Daniel Musinga, Tony & Janet and Mbili & Rhoda. Step-sister of Esther, Maria, Ndinda, Daniel, Jeremiah, the late Harrison, among others.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Saturday 31st May 2025 at 5.00 a,m. for a funeral service at her ancestral home in Maaini Village, Ikutha Sub-County, Kitui County. Burial will follow thereafter…
