It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Hon. Raphael Machuki Raini which occurred on 20th May 2025 at Kenyatta UniversityTeaching, Referral, and Research Hospital following a short illness.

Beloved son of the late Mzee Machuki Akama and the late Mama Mosero Okenyuri of Bonyasiaga Village, Kisii County. Brother of the late Priscilla Ntabo, the late Gabriel Onchagwa,the late Abere, the late Arori, the late Akama. the late Nyamache, the late Kwamboka, Truphena Nyaboke and Lilian.

Cousin of the late Samuel Okworo and Florence Okworo, and the late Albert Onkundi and the late Jane Onkundi among others.

Husband of Mama Sarah Anastacia Moraa, and Mama Priscilla Morangi. Father of Catherine Omweno, the late Elias Ochako, Rosaria Ondari, Veronica Onuko, Pius Nyabuto, the late Samwel Nyang’acha, Jackson Akama, Winnie Momanyi, Gladys Ondabu, Stella Raini, Lillian Hilkene, Jim Eric Ongiri, Emily Miramond, Jackline Moriasi, and Dr. Hilda Nana lgbokidi. Father-in-law of Omweno Ombasa (Director KTDA) Among others. A doting grandfather of Timothy, Dr. Dave, Moraa, Meshack, Zippor ah, Lilian, Lydia, Mary, Linda, Shen, Michael, Patroba, Aisha, Malaika, Gabe, Mistri, Raini,Annah,Victor, Kerubo, Jacinta, Edna, Sylvia, Ntionie, Malkia, Antony, Ngina, Jake, Jessica, Philemon, Madison, Savannah, Jim Junior, William, Golda, Eli, Josephine among others

Family, friends and colleagues will meet in Nairobi on Tuesday, 17th June 2025 to honour his legacy atAll Saints Cathedral, Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi starting 5pm.

The body will leave Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital on Thursday, 19th June, 2025 and the burial will be on Friday, 20th June 2025 at his home in Ronyasiaga Village, Nyangusu, K isii County.
