John Mbugua Gitau (Wanguhi)

We, the family of the late John Mbugua Gitau, give thanks to the Almighty Father for the life and times he shay ed with us. Though physically gone, you remain close to our hearts as an amazing husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather; great-grandfather, brother in-law, uncle, colleague and friend. We hold beautiful memories of your leadership, wisdom, kindness, sense of humour, warmth and love for us.

John Mbugua Gitau was the beloved husband of Lucy Wanjiru and the late Grace Wanjiru.

Son of the late Gitau and Nguhi King’atua.

Loving dad of Agnes Nyaguthii (Oregon, USA), Isaac Gitau (Swindon, UK), Rachel Nguhi (Swindon, UK), Winnie Njeri (Boston, USA) and Sylviah Wanjiku (Lower Kabete), and brother of the late Njeri, Njenga, Mugure na King’atua.

Father in-law of David Mbogo and Wanja Gitau, Grandfather of Gift Wanjiru, Collins Mbugua Gitau, Newton and Faith Mbugua,Tiffany Wanjiru, Nasya Agnes Nyaguthie, Clay Mbogo, Jarel Muia, Fidel Mbugua, Preye James Gitau, Collins Mbugua Wanjiku, and great-grandfather of .Tyrick He was a brother-in-law of Charles Waruiru Karinja, Jennifer Njeri, Karanja Maina, John Munyira, Samuel Kaman, Wanjiku, Njeri and the late Ngugi, Gikaru and Kimani. He was also an uncle and friend to many.

Friends and family are meeting daily at his home in Mbocha Road, Kirangari, Lower Kabete for burial arrangements.

The cortege will leave Nairobi Adventist Hospital in Nyari on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 9:00 a.m, followed by a funeral service at A.C:K St. Matthews, Mukum, Nairobi at 11:00a.m. The burial will take place thereafter at his farm on Mbocha Road, Kirangari, Lower Kabete.
