John Orwa Odolo

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Orwa Odolo, which occurred on 4th October 2025.

Son of the late Cornel Odolo Masore, the late Patricia Aurna Odolo and the late Ruth Odolo.

Loving husband of Jane Orwa. Father of Jackline Orwa, Maureen Orwa, Kevin Orwa, and Steven Odolo. Father-in-law of Jude Thaddeus Wetangula, Gabriel Oguda and Ephie Ogutu.

Son-in-law of the late Jeckomah Odongo Nange and the late Roselida Awiti Odongo and the late Risper Odongo Nange.

Brother of the late Mathews Masore, the late Leonida Giko, the late Francis Ogenga, Harrison Omollo, the late Mary Atieno, Margaret Otiende, the late Joseph Ochieng, Rose juma, the late Pamella Akinyi, the late Charles Onyango Odolo and Judith Gladys Odolo.

Brother-in-law of Damaris Akoth Alice Achieng, among others. Nyawona; Mzee Dominic Khaemba Wetangula, the late Faustine Nekunda Wetangula, the late Ann Nanyama Wetangula of Mukhweya Village, Bungoma County; Mzee Zachary Oguda Ombija and Mania Josephine Oguda of Seme Kombija, Jimo Village; Annah Akinyi Ogutu and the late Wilson Ogutu of Migori County.

Grandfather of Maya Angelou Oguda, Nesta Rollex Owino, Angela Merkel Oguda, Joshua Baraka Wetangula, and Roman Apollo Oguda.

Uncle of Christine, Florence, Samson, Emmanuel, Rehema, Jenipher, Cornel, George, Faith, Kevin, among others. He was cousin, uncle, and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Uyoma Kabuong, Siaya County, and Lang’ata, Nairobi County, from 5.00pm.

The cortege will leave St. Elizabeth Lwak Mission Hospital Mortuary on 23rd October- 2025 at 11.00arn for a requiem mass at St.Theresa of Calcutta Kawuondi Parish, thereafter to his home in Ndhere Village, Masala. Sub-Location, Siaya County for an overnight vigil. The burial service will be held on 24th October 2025 at his home from 11.00 am.
